Understand, clubs like Penn Fusion, FC Delco and PDA take care of the expenses of teams that advance to National Championships, so cost is almost never a factor. The main issues is girls that don't want to travel prior to having to leave for college. This never happens on the boys side, teams always show up for championships, but for some reason girls U18/19 teams have bailed on GDA, ECNL and USYS finals. The has been a topic on talking soccer in the past.
And by take care of expenses, you mean give the parents a year-end special assessment for coaches expenses .... and pay on your own for your own travel?

No. If teams advanced to national finals (like playing for a national championship), the players travel, and housing, were paid by the club, as well as any coaching fees. Parents were on their own, but that is always the case. In recent years Penn Fusion, FC Delco and FC Bucks have not had any teams advancing to national championship rounds, but in the past those clubs covered expenses for teams advancing to national championship rounds. Some PF boys teams went to nationals so might be better to check to see how it worked for them, but PF helps with expenses. In the distant past, EPYSA also proved money for teams traveling to USYS nationals, which was enough to pay for team meals.

So what? Some of those clubs have top college coaches kicking in their door. So pay to travel to youth nationals ($1,000) for a youth trophy or get most of your college comped (upwards of $60,000 x 4).

        No brainer.

Not buying it. Most DA clubs cant afford this.

It is true. I have a friend whose daughter’s team (in another state) made it into the championship round for GDA last year, and it was paid for. That is different from nationals though. They had to make 2 trips to CA and first nationals trip, they had to pay for and was only when they had to go back for the final four that the tab was picked up. Obviously hardly any teams get that far so it’s mostly parents footing the bill.

DA and ECNL both pick up the players tab for championship weekend. The clubs don't.

Clubs don't pay for it. Us soccer covers that expense for final 4.
