I love how over here, GotSoccer rankings mean something, but over on the 06 thread, they are considered ****. Yet it is probably the same dad, with a kid on each team talking out of both sides of his mouth on each thread.

Bucks only had one team qualify that was the 2003 team which qualified for the lowest level of ECNL playoffs, on the last game , on a last minute goal of the regular season

So why the heck would FC Bucks make social media posts bragging about the got soccer rankings for one of their teams. Just makes bucks look even more incompetent if that’s even possible. SMH.

If it’s not highly ranked in GotSoccer then those rankings don’t matter. The reality is the closest thing to accurate rankings is youthsoccerranking but that’s not perfect either.

Pretty sure most ECNL teams have a goal to make it to ECNL playoffs and when you don’t make the playoffs you miss out on a prime recruiting opportunity. It’s simple really.

My kid did GDA and ECNL and both have a large draw at their postseason events.
Would not crown ECNL the king as far as college coaching draws. GDA had just as many if not more. In GDA there is only a championship post season bracket. Top 16-20 teams only.
So ECNL allows for more post season opportunities to be showcased (so a good player on an average team can still be seen), but GDA showcases only the best overall teams in that league.

I would never trash someone’s choice but when a club posts about a ranking and that ranking turns out to be wrong they open themselves up for criticism. Not to mention it is just extremely amateurish for clubs to be posting about rankings which can and do change weekly.
And bottom line - whether you want to admit it or not - if you want to be considered a good ECNL team - you need to make the playoffs. Period.
If a bucks team makes the ECNL playoffs then they should make a post and brag about it, I would have zero problem with that post!
