It could be trolls or even a JFC person stirring the pot, but then it turns into why can't FESA just be happy for us and why can't FESA congratulate us and ...FESA is a merged pathetic club and on and on. The reality is the top girls in Jax will migrate to be together to be successful. I like to think of the JFC Storm U18 team this year. They all came together from 15 different high schools and clubs in Jax. The girls could not stand to commute to the swampy PV fields and get eaten alive two nights a week by biting gnats, but the girls found a way to be together. North Florida is proud of these U16 girls.

That video and everything else leads to the college scout to see the player at an event, usually at a showcase event, they want to see the player, playing at a high caliber event against high caliber competition to evaluate their true level. They stressed that if they like the player they will get money from grants and other ways, that most athletic departments work with the schools counselors to be able to "afford" a player as it were. They told us to not worry in terms of what a parent can afford to pay, as they usually have good success in recruiting and settling that issue.

Did you see that Eric Dade and Mike Walker weaseled in the pictures? Sean Bubb and Tim Lucas would let the players enjoy their experience!!!

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostAs the father of a few brainy kids, this is great news! I have often heard that a small percentage of players end up earning a scholarship. But I've also noticed that as the years roll by, many drop out, leaving only the more dedicated. I assume that the odds get better for the kids who study hard and keep playing. At least I'll cling to that but keep my expectations realistic.
Thanks for the info!
My son was a good student, 3.88/4.0, but needed a 32 to qualify for academic $$ and he did not. He chose to go to the best school he could get into rather than the highest athletic scholarship offered. Two other players on his team qualified for academic and received over 50% plus the athletic.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostUmmm, so, not sure if you heard, but, JFC already has DA. Try to spin it all you want, but the fact is that boys from U13 through U18 will be playing a DA schedule this year at JFC. This is why FESA is getting a bad rep. The unwillingness to admit the truth, and the desire to spin lies and misinformation to serve its own purpose and attempt to negate the factual positives that are happening at its crosstown rival is exactly why FESA is getting a bad name. It's also why eventually your own parents will wise up to your smoke and mirrors and leave in droves. I can act like a 2nd grader too.....JFC has DA and ECNL and you don't! Nany, nany, boo, boo!!!

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostBecause JFC is pulling some boys together from different clubs to play other da teams does not mean JFC has been awarded full da. But that's okay, JFC is swimming in the right direction and surely US club will grant JFC full da with JFC having Armada. FESA parents and players know about JFC and are not leaving. In fact the boys side at FESA picked up a bunch of new players from outside Creeks and JYSC. Not every boy wants to play on a JFC or combined club da teams. The kids like playing on FESA's competitive teams by the creeks and river closer to their own backyards. JFC is unable to see that.
