Was this team eligible to play in state cup (was it U12 or U13?)? If this is a U13 team, come on how can anyone seriously say things like one of the best in the country if it hasn't even proven itself against the best in FL at SC? Hope this is a U12 team otherwise yikes these parents need some help and/or education about the youth soccer landscape--and a little humility, posting local news stories on TS?

That is HIS decision and if he has the balls to tell you otherwise he is an outright liar! People, just simply ask any coaching friend that you have in another state!!!! It's a joke!! This guy Strickeler is destroying our state and everyone is sitting back and watching it doing nothing about it.do you know how ridiculous it is to lose thquality of coaches that we have because they have advanced national NSCAA licenses but can't coach state cup, BUT some inexperienced moron who only has a D license can coach? This is pathetic! And anyone who doesn't think it's about $ is a complete fool!
1. Does Fl have any choice to disallow NSCAA licensing as a qualifier for state cup, YES OR NO? Do NOT LET HIM give his standard mouth full of crap answer that you can't understand ever. It's a YES OR NO question!!! FYSA CAN ALLOW NSCAA licensing and that's a fact!! This is such blatant BS it's ridiculous and anyone who listens to this crap and thinks it's true is a complete idiot. We the affiliates run FYSA and we as affiliates don't even have to have the D license requirement if we don't want to!!! This board at FYSA has everyone brainwashed into thinking they can do whatever they want. If we don't like the decisions that we've allowed the EC to make then get rid of the people who are on the EC!!! People need to speak up at the AGM and need to propose bylaws that the affiliates can vote on!! We can change whatever we want but don't let this idiot Strickler do whatever he wants. Hold him accountable and when he doesn't give you a straight answer then ask the questions again! And when he lies go over his head and you will see there is no federation rule about only having US Soccer licensing as a qualifier for coaching within a particular state!! That's utterly ridiculous and the other states are laughing at us!

As long as MS is in charge of FL ODP our state will always be looked at as a joke. Let's be honest, although he may be a nice guy he is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. The guy can't even speak. Has he ever answered a question without sounding like he needs medication? Until people speak up and hold him accountable our state will always be a joke. Is there any wonder why more and more clubs are going to NPL and U.S. club soccer? He has opened the door for non us Soccer clubs and tournaments starting to take a major foothold in FL and everyone is sitting back watching g it happening by never holding this guy accountable. Our ODP is an embarrassment and there needs to be a change but nobody wants to address it and our soccer mom board just lets it all happen.

Why would Charger DA parent spend close to 10,000 a year to watch their son lose and not get any better as a player. Chargers DA is a joke.

Easy there Killer. Your question should not be yes or no but WHY. I agree with you that either license is acceptable but we do need to set a standard for coaches who attend State Cup... no matter how low it may be. We as a profession (soccer coaches) need to try to advance our standards so the requirement to have a "D" license or higher is just fine with me. As for the AGM, vote everyone out and start over again. FYSA in general has F'd the whole State up with many of their decisions.
