By the way, the girl FCT got from WC was on white but she was there because she moved from out of state and came in late so without trying her out they just put her there. Both feet, unselfish and knows the game. She would've made them better last year. Now she's making FCT better.[/QUOTE

Is the team better than it was at the beginning of last year? Do you have someone better than any of the players that left? Or are they just a better group?

Probably better overall. The team looks to be significantly more well rounded. No noticeable weak links will be getting playing time out of necessity like last year. Including in goal. I have no idea what Serge saw in the keeper that came from WC. She cost them at least two games with that goalkeeper timeshare nonsense, most notably the first game against WC. Two of the girls that left were fast and strong but both were also pretty much one dimensional. The most complete player on the team is the girl from Hernando and she would've been their best player last year too. They look to be even stronger in the back. The coaches seem thrilled with this group of girls so if their initial evaluation means anything they're going to be pretty good.

FCT and GTB improved a lot, TBU improved a little (they were already very good) Wesley Chapel and Lakeland got weaker, how are the West Florida Flames that will play FSPL?

Not really sure. There are two teams calling Brandon home now. As was addressed earlier in this thread, the bulk of the team that were state cup semifinalists are now playing ECNL. There are a handful of girls from that team that are on the FSPL team but the majority on that team are new. I'd expect them to be a quality side but not what they were last year.

My daughter played for them last year and training/coach was a joke. You can't have an unqualified parent coach at that level and expect to develop players. Final game is State Cup Round of 16 is all that needs to be said. Other parents, who were in the wrong as well, and coach yelling at each other across field while girls are playing. Awful.

Cape Coral will be just as good, if not better then San Carlos from last year.
              Why was coach a joke?

That is a good question. The team was very successful the past several years. Who deserves the credit in developing the players? Was the coach really a joke or is it just that he was a parent who shouldn't be coaching his kid?

Talking with one of the parents a girl that moved down, right now they are not sure how strong their mid are yet and not sure they have a stand out goal scorer that saves you in the close game. The team is 4 players from the SC team that did not make ECNL, 4 from 2nd team and 5 from Lakeland. Few from other clubs like FH, HDT, BR, GTB.

Not sure about being a joke but definitely not an elite level coach. The team was successful by getting the Cape Coral players (which coach's daughter was one) and putting them together with other good players (Naples, SC, etc.). Cape had won Region C that previous year before the girls left. The team was really good because it was sort of a "super team" put together by the coach. The lack of elite coaching caught up i guess.

Isn't this coach the San Carlos President? Hard to believe he isn't one of the club's biggest assets.

What is his soccer background experience? Ex-player? How big are his private lesson following? I was told his training camps are full.
