Get back to the topic of Hope Solo. US Soccer has made a huge mistake. I don't care if she is convicted or not. She should not be glorified.

Gotcha ... Three quarters through the trial the prosecutor offers a plea bargain. Do the math there wasn't enough evidence despite hundreds of witnessess

Not sure who glorifies her, but there are not really that many elite atheletes who are nice people. There simply isn't. Just saying...

Seriously? That is your response? Hope Solo is being glorified by US Soccer by being named captain. I won't even start listing elite athletes who serve their sports and their communities with respect. That generalization is pretty silly.

She is captain of Seattle Reign ... Not USWNT

                Who cares about the Reign

Obviously you know no one who has actually been around professional atheletes. Their public face is hardly who they are. Fool.

One of the reasons I have an issue with Solo is she has had other encounters with the law before. At what point do you say enough already? As we all know top athletes are often coddled and allowed to get away with things the average Joe doesn't. It sends a very poor message to children and other athletes, and encourages the continuation of bad behavior.

Something all the leagues need to grapple with is

                    1) what type of offense gets what type of punishment?
                    2) is a player allowed to remain on the payroll, or even keep playing, up until he/she is found guilty/innocent in a court of law? In the most recent case the matter was settled legally already, but the court of public opinion - because of the video release - mattered far more.

We are talking about a US Women's game on Monday where she was wearing the captains band. So again, you have no idea what you are talking about.

The captaincy rotates and this was the game after she set the all time shut out record ... Big deal

Did they put the picture of her with the garden hose up on the big screen ?
Great role model for young girl soccer players.
