Bedoya would not make the 4th level of the French National team so I would not be sticking wall posters of this average player on any walls, fences, magazine covers, or websites. Oops! Too late, he is already up on the wall! Pitiful!

IMG has done nothing on the girls side the past 6-8 years let's be honest. This was a major blow for the league in announcing some of these clubs because anyone in Florida knows they bring nothing to the table in terms of competitive teams. The do not even have teams at U12-U16. No feeder system and is a bunch of foreign players. Really makes sense to add foreign players to a US academy league? Call it like it is, this was a decision to get the facility one time a year for a showcase. Recent additions look desperate for girls DA in Florida. The people in Florida know who the top girls clubs are and boys for that matter. It does not matter what league you stamp on it.

Maybe they did want their fields but it is building for the future. Some WFF and TBU girls may have went to IMG's DA but not if WFF has it.

WFF and TBU girls would not go to IMG, you are clearly out of your mind. IMG cannot pull players from Braden River and FC Sarasota. And you are foolish to think DA in front of your name will bring players? Name a boy who left any of those clubs for the DA, now you think a girl would leave when those clubs are putting more kids to college each year than you have in your total program U16-U18 girls. You let us all know how this wishful thinking goes when you return from Pluto.

Doesn't US Soccer Fed have the money to do the market research?

They clearly did no research or they would have discovered that the vast majority of elite players will say NO to GDA if it means giving up High School soccer.

How many $50000 scholarships will IMG have. Lol. Bad move giving them a GDAP spot. Please people. This is not boys soccer where they have fully funded MLS clubs. This is girls soccer. Having so many teams in Florida is not going to help. The few players that want the GDAP experience should be on the same team rather than on 7 different teams. Once the ECNL adds a few other clubs in Florida to their league it will dilute the teams even more.

Thanks US Soccer. There was finally a platform that was successful oh but you had nothing to do with it so you had to mess it up and try to get a piece of it. Go mess up the men more leave the World Champion women's side alone.

Yes, I am sure the top girls are so noncompetitive that they will skip playing in the GDA and drop down a league just to play HS soccer.

If most girls say NO to GDA and stay with their ECNL teams, it's playing GDA that would be "dropping down".

What the GDA cheerleaders keep forgetting is that the top tier most competitive league will be wherever the best players decide to go. Not the league that USSF declares is the top one. GDA may well find itself the second tier league after the elite players make their choices.

Correct as IMG has focused on being what it is: a For Profit Corporation. They recruit high net worth (very high) players from Central and South America. They don't really have a girl's program, particularly one consisting of American players.

So all these clubs went out to get da for no reason? You do not think they will be telling their top players the GDA is where they should be. USSF will be pushing which will make the clubs follow step.

So USSF is helping IMG make the big bucks and train players for other countries' teams.

If IMG's DA teams end up being foreign nationals what sense would that make? Is the goal of the DA to destroy US dominance in women's soccer?

Yes, because if some foreign born players are on IMG DA team the WNT future will crumble. News Flash, foreign-born players play for US colleges and professionally in the US yet the US still manages to scrap together a team.

Sure maybe some of the women playing here for colleges helps them to develop into better players on their national team (for the very few that applies to) but at the same time, they also help the very few that will play for the US WNT to be better.
