Fort Lauderdale Strikers Joining local clubs

First West Pines and now Coral Springs United. Who do you think benefits more? Strikers or Clubs?

Strikers clearly. The clubs pay a percentage of their players' fees to the Strikers to roll out a player as a "coach" when only a couple even have a license. If it were a good deal, don't you think more clubs would be onboard?

It is not likely to stop there! Just think Orlando City...this is what is now taking root here in S.Florida. West Pines, Coral Springs, Club Y, Club X, Club Z...oh yeah, its happening!

The difference is that the Strikers don't care about developing players, they just want to make some cheap money. If they really wanted player development they would run it like the MLS academies instead of a marketing program.

there is always a nay sayer that has little or no facts to support there rants. Fact, it benefits both organizations, most importantly it benefits the kids!

The fact is the MLS academies make you pay less, not more. If the club is paying an extra fee for all members, how is that paying less?

Ok...You have two clubs that have "bought in" to this concept. How much did it cost each club to do so? From what I am told, there is a long term commitment that the club must make in dollars. What guarantees are there that the Strikers will be there long term? Ditto the players and the coaches? They totally overhauled their roster this year. So if one of the players becomes a "coach" at a club, what guarantees are there that he would stay there? Are the Strikers going to pay for licenses for the players? How many of them have them? You can't put them on a state cup team for next year unless they have at least a D license! And lastly, TR was the president of Weston for a number of years. Why hasn't THAT club joined the alliance? Currently there are two clubs that have fallen apart on board. Don't see how that benefits anyone.

dont know if i am being edited, or punching in the wrong code.

In any event, my league has a Striker every year, and every year they start out strong and float through the teams. They are always given an impressive title and they always know what they are talking about. But their participation always seems limited to poking in on a team for a week or two and them moving on, so they add very little to the teams or the club as a whole. By midseason, they come even less unless you are paying for the private sessions. By year's end, you are lucky if you see them at all. None of this I would complain with if they stuck around for the dull days when the Striker season ended and the travelling programs were completing their seasons, and they came in and excited the program and committed to training 1 or 2 teams. However, this is when they go back to their families and the programs with Striker "coaches" remain static.

Two clubs to start and a "few" more to follow. I will say this, the cost is justifiable. If you are interested in the actual cost I suggest you look onto the program for your club, it's not for everyone. There are contractual guarantees for both Strikers players and coaches involvement with the clubs. This type of program as mentioned is thankfully not for every club. I think its easy to spread ill will (if your into that sort of thing) with little to no information to try and show superiority. Isn't that what bullies do? Fact remains, there are clubs out there that can and do benefit from these types of programs and clubs that cant or wont. It is the belief of these organizations that with the proper oversight and management the affiliation will most of all benefit the development of the Players.

not for every club as in, not "right" for every club.

I think the point was that there are many things that need to be considered that its "not for everyone".

Doesn't give you a cost breakdown. Anybody can make up a "flier" and say here is how it benefits....Put some "meat" on the sandwich.

If it's not for you great. If it is great. We know we are a strong club with good teams. Who cares what team name or affiliation? As long as the team is good and happy and the coach is doing a good job, nothing else matters.

Does it have to be uneven? Why could it not be mutually beneficial? Assuming everybody involved benefits what does it really matter?
