Is anyone paying club fees for Fall season?

Our club is pressuring us to register and pay for Fall season. I have a feeling if the season gets cancelled we will not get our money back.

our club asked for a $200 reg fee. They said once they get a yes or no on the season they would then open up paying for the season in monthly installments

Clubs have already, or will very soon be paying for the players cards. It is not unreasonable that they collect money for at least that purpose.

Pay monthly, do not pay in full. If you pay in full you're begging to get screwed.

Our club Auburndale was very early to shutdown payments in March and gave $150 credit towards the 20/21 seasons. If season does not happen full refund less cc fees. If you had paid in full in the fall then they refunded 1/3. Which is fair with Fall and winter training completed.

If you felt like your club screwed you in the Spring don't go back look around.

How can the clubs just continue to run if no one is paying fees?

$150, that's it? What age group?

How much does Auburndale pay for their field rentals, how much of a deposit is required, and how far ahead do they have to pay?

Clubs should have different fiduciary responsibilities based on how much overhead they have, no?

It’s great if your club is in a position to be able to offer that. With that logic everyone should flock to your club. I’ll pass.

Fields are NYC Parks and maintained by the club at least $75k annual cost to maintain them. Total annual fees range from $1450 to $1850 depending on age and number of practices per week. Typical setup is two nights a week of practice some teams three. Winter training two nights a week one night pre covid was in a gym one night is indoor turf bubble. They gyms are inexpensive the bubble has the big cost.

I think deposit is $200 then monthly payments. If season is cancelled full refund less 4% to cover cc transaction costs. Auburndale is not for profit so the goal is to break even.

There were 29 teams last year some very competitive, teams some recreational. 2009 Boys won NY Cup and back to back Jefferson Cup. If got soccer means anything they were ranked 2nd in the state.

Were not begging anyone to come join us, but if you feel your club screwed you over, you should look around. Season won't start until late September so plenty of time to look around.

So the $150 is the credit for returning players not the full cost.
