OW typically does well at Jeff Cup. Recently, FSA has been sending ECNL and keeping its NPL teams home. CFC?

          I found the following https://events.gotsport.com/events/d...?EventID=66908

OW NPL U16 U17 and U18 (site says NPL, not GDA)
          FSA: U19 ECNL
          YU: U16 and U17
          CT Rush: U15 and U16
CFCU: U15 ECNL and NPL, U17 U18 NPL, U19 ECNL Composite, U15 North
          Ginga U17

OW may have done well there in the past but now their NPL teams aren't nearly as strong because of GDA. FSA probably isn't sending ECNL because they have an ECNL showcase soon, but they should send the NPL teams, no?

That was last year when they chickened out of FL because of snow here (CFC made it). They had to make it up to ECNL players so they booted the NPL players and gave them a weaker event in MA. Bit it doesn't look like their NPL teams are going this year either. FSA ECNL is going to Phoenix soon so skipping Jeff makes sense for them. CFC went to TX last month.

Well, sure. there's no point in seniors going to a showcase at this point, is there? Probably all those players are signed with decent D1 schools and just need to keep in shape.

Keep in mind that there can be juniors on a U18 team.

                    no it's their U19 team - 00s and 01s. It's the only team FSA has there. https://events.gotsport.com/events/t...908&search=FSA

Of course some juniors could be playing up as well but they have the ECNL showcase in AZ in April so why? Why even send a team this age to a non ECNL event? They're either already recruited or never will be.

CFC Probably should have sent their 16 ECNL team. 17 and 18 ECNL teams at CFC are essentially entirely committed so I understand not dragging those kids to VA.

                        The biggest showcase is PDA.
CFC is sending U14,15,16,17 ecnl u15,16,17 npl

They will get plenty of looks there in good weather

But they were just in FL in January, TX last month, and have PDA in May and nationals in June. Exposure is one thing, going broke from travel is another.

So the thread title is completely wrong - it's OW's NPL teams, not their "top" teams. I guess the thread OP didn't know that DA teams don't do JC and that they have a GDA showcase in April?

So, the GDA teams have JV- and rec-quality players on them, because the high-school ban keeps the good players away.

The NPL teams have Varsity-quality players.

                              So, the OP was correct.
