If any club is let into the NE ECNL on the girls side it will be Penn Fusion.

I am sure there are politics and all but from a consistent quality perspective, I agree. Penn Fusion turns out quality teams at all age groups.

There are 16 GDA teams when you combine NE and mid-atlantic, and they have crossover games. Maybe that's what they meant? But if anything there will be fewer GDA clubs, not more. If you count the clubs that have younger teams that can get you to 16 in BDA NE but not for U15+

ECNL would be smart to include 2 more CT based clubs in its league. CFC is floundering, the blueprint isn’t working they are the south central of academy when it first started. They insulate their ECNL or NPL teams in state and when needed they play an inferior beach team one age up to justify parent $3700.00 spend.

This thread is sponsored by ECNL and CFC, their demise is GDA not succeeding. Money grab!

BS will be applying for GDA once their new facility is built.

Both GDA and the BS facility have one foot in the grave each. Actually the BS facility already in the hole, just no dirt has been shoveled on top yet.

Lots of rumors and speculation around here. Regionally it looks very likely that NYCFC might be done on the girls side. Players scrambling to get looks at World Class and PDA. Here in New England lots of talk about NEFC looking to the ECNL. If those two go, lights are out in the Northeast. My money is on one more year and only because CA and Texas have been reasonably successful.

On the boys side if MLS clubs pull out this thing is toast.

Reset button probably needs to be hit on the USSF

I assume you are talking about the Boy's side?

OW is a joke on the girls compared to CFC. No one at CFC cares about the GDA or OW for that matter. It's a small group of kids that made a poor decision driven by the ego of their parents. The platform is very close to cratering and the program wasn't remotely attractive to any of the top players in the state. Aside from that, I guess it's fine.

Lights out on the GDA within 24 months max.

Not sure what your claim of spin alert means? MTA spinning that they are "leaving" BDA to join ECNL before they get kicked out?

The top MLS teams want the bottom Non MLS teams out. This is what is likely to happen. MTA is one of those bottom BDA clubs, so yes the bottom 5-10 clubs will be in a mad scramble to join ECNL (they cannot just "join' USYS National league) if they are removed from BDA.

That is USSFs challenge. MLS is putting the pressure on but USSF is trying desperately to maintain market share, even add more clubs

The GDA and BDA are not going anywhere. BDA will evolve to get rid of bottom clubs and will adjust scheduling on behalf of the MLS teams.

GDA will continue as a league and USSF will encourage top players to play there. NE is its own problem but elsewhere the league is strong and the NTs are full of GDA players from the stronger regions. They can easily survive on the southern/west coast kids and ignore even top talent ECNL kids if they want to make a point via NT camp invites.

Boys side has 14 clubs. 2-3 should be dropped because of poor performance and inability to field teams.
Drop FC Bucks, Albertson, and Baltimore Celtic (*)
                              * Baltimore Celtic is playing its B team in ECNL and put their A teams in EDP National League. It they would play their A team in ECNL they would be fine to stay.

Problem - Who could you add in the Northeast? GPS Mass Elite, SUSA, Bethesda, STA, Cedar Stars?

You are badly mistaken. Do you honestly think USSF is going to continue to sink money into the Titanic? Once the MLS clubs are gone (happening shortly), the boys are done. There will not be a single thing they offer that boys couldn’t get in the ECNL or NEP.

Girls is basically done already. Slammers went all in to ECNL last year and took a boatload of players from the other CA clubs. They are now in full scale panic mode. CA clubs will be leaving. Texas soon to follow. GDA was dead on arrival. Girls don’t want to give up high school. Parents don’t want to pay to see their kids not play because only 14 do on game day and there is no re-entry.

By the way, USSF tried selecting from the GDA only when they first started and got embarrassed on the field. They absolutely cannot survive doing that and guess what? They aren’t going to put their own jobs in jeopardy to make a point. USSF will gladly walk away from the girls once the boys folds. It’s the only reason they did it to begin with.
