Stars made this decision based on a financial reason don't kid yourself. Stars is about stars unless you're a chosen one. Let's not forget who is on the Board of the ECNL and who's a founding member

Correct. Stars have been steadily losing ground to NEFC since it came on the scene. NEFC aisn’t the patsy that the Scorpions were. Head to head the Stars we’re losing to them on just about every level so of course it makes sense for the Stars to leave the DA, it’s really the only thing that they could do to maintain any semblance of market share. They’ll follow the GPS model and cater to delusional but wealthy parents and make a big deal about low level college commitments. It’s a business.

Too funny. People hate him but still, how many roster spots did Fred sell talking about the Mewis sisters? JD can probably milk the ECNL hype machine until he is ready to retire.

That maybe true, but it is the kids that pay the price. #baitandswitch

This is just false information. When both Breakers and Stars were ECNL for the 2016-2017 season the Stars teams were far superior. Yes Breakers have grown since going from NPL to ECNL and then to DA and they have some strong teams and good players, but saying Stars were losing to them on every level? Nope. Stars do very well against them in NE NPL and NEP divisions. As far as DA games? Breakers ECNL is playing a thrown together Stars DA team and not their own ECNL from last year. There are very good players on the team mixed with subpar players.
As far as what’s always said about missing high school? Clubs and coaches will say that high school Soccer is a joke and that players have an increased risk of injury and will develop bad habits and it’s only about the social aspect. All true. But guess what? They still all want to do it and you and your child can lie to yourself all you want and say you don’t want to be part of the school and community and you don’t miss it.

All this us vs them is pointless and childish. Be happy where you are and let your kid play. Who cares what level or league they are on. Ridiculousness abounds on this form and people are immature idiots. When someone responds with insults, it’s actuallu amusing that they are protesting so much - we can see right through the jealousy. So when you club bash - we know you really want to be on that club.

Maybe it is more pointless and childish to come on TS and speak for “all”. I only speak for myself and when I say my D is happy to be out of HS kickball that is the truth. When Stars say GDA will crumble without them and I call BS that is the truth too.

So in your mind, Stars decision to leave GDA comes down to JD wanting to avoid ever having to go head-to-head with NEFC? Do you also want to refute the many cogent arguments supporting the idea that the GDA model has been and is problematic for many players and clubs?

Would BBA DA rosters have been as strong if not for all the waivers?

Did PDA and Hawks also depart the DA to avoid having to face the fearsome NEFC/BBA? It's actually laughable how transparent you NEFC shills are, and always have been. Have fun with yourselves next year in GDA. Ta ta!

You are just making excuses for not having good teams. Fact is all of the kids in high school already had obligations to teams and there was always going to be a transition period. NEFC clearly won by managing that transition better and you are just bitter because of it. The actual target of the program is the kids now in middle school. They'll be indoctrinated to not want to play HS soccer so it will never be an issue within a year or two. As far as clubs like PDA and the Hawks go, them pulling out is really just a simple matter of them fighting USSF's supervision in favor of a bigger bottom line. It's business. It will be interesting to see who actually wins the ******* contest and more important whether the quality of player in the WNT youth system improves because of it.

Stars didn't win a game in any age group against Breakers in 2016-17 ECNL. And they were outplayed completely in all the games. Who's false now? Go check the archives, moron.

04,03, 00 Tied, and 00 and 98/99 lost. Stars had zero win against BBA in 2016017.

The link above shows Stars 03 (u14) beating BBA on May 3rd, 2017. Score was 1-0. Does that count?

Ok they tied one and lost 1 in that age group. Does that make this correct?
