How much do D3's make? Most of them are only parttime.

And btw you forgot to add in moneys from camps that supplement coach's salaries. They can be quite lucrative.

Depends on the school; many of the privates have full time coaches, but so do some of the public/state schools. Combining admin duties with coaching duties plus camp revenue and you can make a nice living.

A few I know are FT locally...
        Babson
        Wheaton
        Westfield
        Salem
        MCLA
        Endicott
        Wentworth

Guess the difference would be workload. In DI the full time coaches are actually just that - full time in coaching only. But the previous poster is correct in that some D3 coaches that are full time make more than some D1 coaches.

          Full Time D3 Coaches:
Amherst, Middlebury, Williams, Tufts, Bowdoin, Brandeis, U.Mass-Boston, Wheaton, Clark, W. Conn. St., Roger Williams, etc......the list goes on and on. This is not the 80's and 90's anymore. Only a small percentage are part-time. Things have changed in D3. Most D3 coaches are full time. Babson and Brandeis both have full time asst. coaches with benefits.

They just did phone interviews a few days ago. They are not in the "finalist" stage yet.

I hope KM, the current UNH Asst. Coach gets serious consideration.

The assistant only gets the job if the coach leaves and the program is successful. UNH will clean house!

At the college level, programs are unsuccessful because the AD doesn't allocate resources to them. They make decisions to be mediocre. UNH is an example. Let's face it, if the 50K salary that was reported here is accurate, that job is nothing but a stepping stone job. Some programs pay their assistants more so it will be a revolving door. You'll endure a series of coaching changes every 3-4 years and will never make any headway because of it.

Typically the $50K is a base that carries incentives. For example make the NSCAA academic team list and get another $10K, win the conference and make the NCAAs and get an additional $15K. Plus there is camp and shoe/ uniform money (although for the UNH womens soccer the show $$ may be only a grand or less!). So it will be more like $80K, still on the low end of the spectrum, but better than a check-out spot @ Wal-Mart! And of course its a "stepping stone" job, its the AE for Dobb's sake!!

It is very rare for soccer coaches to get bonus money! No coaches get a bonus for their team making the NSCAA Academic Team, for winning conference championship they may get a $2,500 bump but that is rare! UNH does not give shoe or equipment money, they lucky to get a pair of sneakers. The potential for camp money is not as great as you think, some athletic departments take a huge chunk of the revenue.
