The world of sports is run by recommendations. That is what a scout really does, no? If the DOC has credibility then it can be very important. If they don't it means squat. If your kid is what they are actually looking for none of it matters because a blind man would be able to see the talent within a few minutes of watching them. Get it, if the kid can play it is obvious so none of the politicking matter at all.

No top club coach or DOC wants to lose their best players to DAP teams, so don't think for even one second that your coach or DOC will willingly refer your kid to DAP!

If your son is very good the coaches will recognize it quickly and group him with the very best candidates. After that it's up to him to perform.

Our DOC has helped multiple players get onto the Revs. He knows it's the right thing to do.

Shouldn't make universal condemnations. There ARE lots of selfish dinks who will hold players back to benefit them and their club. Thankfully though, not all of them are dinks. Trick is to find the ones who aren't dinks.

They are not looking for some inch to small, step to slow kid, who happens to pick his head up every once and a while to make an semi-intelligent pass and looks great playing with a bunch of future JV players at some two bit club. They want the real deal and if your kid isn't widely recognized as being that by the age of 14 you are wasting everyone's time and your money.
This is the truth, they are looking for a couple of future stars, the rest are just there to develope them. If your kid is not one of those couple, move on (or at least try the Bolts).

Read the article in the Boston Globe about TD to get a sense on what the Rev's are about.

It doesn't really say anything that hasn't been said on this forum a hundred times over:

This doesn't really say anything about what the Revs are about. It is just one kid that made a decision to play ISL instead of DAP.

Did nothing for the Rev's. Back to HS kick ball. Nice article posted by the parents

Here is a kid that is that good of a player, yet the Rev's essentially benched him for 2 years.
That is what the Revs and the u16 coach BS is all about, it is not just being a great player. You need to be the great player that that fits into their system.

The people reading this and thinking about their u12 kids need to realize it is not just about having a great player, they need to fit into the Revs system at the right time.

That is true of any high level team. The Patriots are a perfect example, they will sign a player that they like that fits their system. It isn't always who is the most talented.
I think this is pretty telling of The strength of ISL also. A kid that sits the bench in DAP can dominate ISL.

Or how weak the ISL is compared to DAP

Three Revolution coaches were at the GPS National Team tryouts in Acton Friday evening.
