That's straight from NEFC and the last information anyone has gotten, even though offer letters have gone out.

Some ECNL teams do that twice. Then other trips to Orlando, CASL etc...league travel and hotels. It adds up. Those are the facts. I am just saying that $1000 in the big picture isn't really a big difference when you consider your yearly expenses to play ECNL.

NEFC teams went to Florida and Maryland this year, and most families flew, so the base fee actually is meaningful to most people as they have to budget around it.

There isn't any fallout for it as long as you communicate your feelings. Don't be a noob and assume that just because the coach or some elements of the team think going to places like Disney or Las Vegas are a good idea for them, that it is a good idea for your player and your wallet. The club is big enough that it can certainly find enough players to fill in if needed and since showcases are about showcasing and not about winning you shouldn't have to feel as though you are obligated.

If you are making close to 100k, you won't qualify and can probably only scrap enough change to pay the annual club fee, never mind plane trips across the country. And even if you can afford it, you are probably cutting something else out in your family budget, important stuff like school tutors or xmas presents.
