If two kids apply to the same school with similar academic profile and one will play sports and the school is interested in having them on the team then the kid playing sports will get in first. We don’t look at it from a scholarship standpoint as previous poster was right chances are slim. However if you can better position yourself at your school of choice then it’s a win as the college landscape is getting increasingly competitive
