Regardless its the law of the land until they change it.

You are welcome to leave the country and find refugee elsewhere nobody is stopping you.

or Run for a leadership position in US Soccer and see if your vision has any support.
The Thorns Development Academy is not run by the Portland Thorns professional team. They spent waaaay too much money on that academy during their first year (2017/2018) as part of the US Development Academy. So, they made a deal with the Westside Timbers in which they gave Westside less than half of the amount of money they spent to run the academy on their own and Westside agreed to raise the player fees to cover the difference.

The Thorns Academy is a Westside Timbers program. Westside oversees all of the money...all of it. Whoever oversees the money owns the program.

With your logic we don't play in an OYSA or USYS league since OYSA outsourced the admin to Timbers/Thorns.

You have set a new bar for stupidity & Ignorance.

      Congrats.

Not sure if any DOCs are recommending thorns any more. Kinda sad.

No reason in Oregon/SW Washington to leave a better OYSA or ecnl team to go to a worse team with lots more restrictions.

Timbers & Thorns DA have hundreds upon hundreds of Oregonians & SW WA kids tryout for the only Pro boys & Girls Academy programs in Oregon.

By definition and constitution the DA is a better level or more precisely its a highest tiered level per US Soccer.

Not too many people would buy into your idealogy of choosing to get pd peanuts playing on a good AAA Baseball team over getting to play in the MLB.

On second thought, nobody with a even just one brain cell
left would pass on the chance to play at the highest level avaialable in the states.

Unless they had give up an 8 week 14 game HS season.

Deal with it, your kid isn't DA level even by Oregons low talent standards.

The ban on high school really hurts recruiting. The best players don’t have to give up anything.

If they opened up high school soccer I think they would do much better at getting better players.

                  1. Cut the cost. I heard it’s about $4,000 per year now, which seems high.
                  2. Let kids play high school soccer. Kids want to play HS. Thorns let girls play basketball so why not soccer.

There are other ideas but those are a good start.

Girls academy just didn’t work in Oregon. Sometimes you build it and they still don’t come because they’re already playing on a better team. NE are girls academy is dead after two years. Top national clubs like Hawks and Slammers already quit and went back to ECNL. 99.9% of girls want college not pro soccer careers so the lure simply isn’t there for very many.

It’s so easy to spot the Timbers propaganda posts. Look for that mix of condescension, arrogance, and typos.

$4000? Why is it four grand when boys are free? That ain’t gonna help get better players with higher cost. You probably get less quality players than if it was free. Can’t Timbers afford to pay for it all?

Don’t know why any girl would want to go pro. College is a much better path. My opinion only and I’m not to judge if someone wants to try pro soccer. Good luck to them.

                            Red Herring.

                            Pivot.

                            Non-Starter

HS Soccer over National level competition

                            Good luck with that.

If your goal is to someday be a Pro, more power to you, going to college and playing is a given if you don't make it to the pros. Absolutely. Win/Win.

It’s true that the elite talents don’t have to give up anything. You try to tell them what to do but they are calling the shots. Teen girls like to play for their school in front of crowds. That’s just a fact. Sorry.
