Why is it whenever an Oregon team does well it is cause the competition is awful? :)))) Maybe Oregon is better then you think.

Seen their football team? Oregon is horrible. Seen their academic standing nation wide? 400th. Why would anybody make Oregon their first choice?

Actually, it's ranked at about 100 and is higher than both AZ schools, WSU, OSU, and UT and is just below CO. Business school, as an example, is in top 50. If you're a good or even great player, it's a good option depending on the circumstances. Not everyone is cut out for Stanford (even assuming you are willing to sit on the bench for four years).
And if your selection is based on the ups and downs of the football program, you have other issues.

Awful? When compared to what? Bottom half of Acc? Bottom half of Big 10? Pac 12 teams would smash those teams. So before you shoot your mouth, have a clue what you're talking about. The top half of the Pac 12 are representative of the top 5% in college soccer. Being below that doesn't make you "awful".

What are you talking about? Please show us these rankings you are quoting. There were some rankings shown earlier and Oregon was at the bottom of the Pac 12 and were in the low 200s.

I think the poster was talking about academic rankings not athletic.

I think they were referring to academic standings, however, here are the current national standings according to the NCAA, here is the PAC12 specifically, and the ranking number refers to what number they are ranked out of the current 334 DI programs. These numbers are through October 17th, the latest rankings.

                        2 Stanford
                        7 USC
                        10 UCLA
                        23 Cal
                        25 Utah
                        39 Colorado
                        51 Oregon
                        61 Oregon State
                        69 WSU
                        73 Arizona
                        81 Washington

Thanks Gomer. We appreciate your lack of attention to previous posts. Of course they were talking about academic rankings.
