    Nce/coe?

Anyone with any experience with this? Considering it as supplemental training in the fall for my 2007 D. To begin with, what's the difference between NCE (National Center for Excellence) and COE (Center Of Excellence)?

Avoid. Complete money grab now. It used to be only the best players. Now it is open to anyone who wants to pay and it is unbelievably diluted down at the younger ages.

ask yourself why are you seeking out extra training? What is her club not providing her? That will help you decide what kind of training you want, if any. NCE is good extra training (don't let the haters sway you) but don't be fooled into thinking it's anything more than that (none of ID stuff, that's all garbage). Another option is find a quality personal trainer and split the cost with 3 other players of similar level.

Also consider that at this age kids can start to wear down a little physically and mentally. If her club team has practice 3 days week and 1-2 games a week you should wait until the winter when club soccer is much less.

Like all else from here on out, read the cancellation clauses in any contract you sign, club training or other.

The training is fine but don't buy into all the hype. They make themselves sound much more important/elite than they really are. Every summer they take a team to Sweden and play against third/fourth tier local town teams. They win every game 6-0/7-0 and then crown themselves World Champions.

My kid did the PDP & COE programs for about 3 years or so starting at U11. We thought the training was really good and still credit them (JC & Alan) for making her a much stronger, smarter player and building her confidence.

Yes, she did the Europe trips, all the Select Squad tournaments and ID2. All were very cool experiences (I've never seen anything like Gothia Cup, it was pretty insane). Some were expensive, some were free, all were worth it to us. BUT, that's my family and my kid. If you are looking for a training program that has all the bells and whistles and offers solid training, this program is a really good option. If you are looking to have your kid up their game and focus solely on training to do that, then you might be better off looking into small group private training with 2 or 3 other kids-it will definitely be the more affordable option.

Way to pricey for an average supplemental.

They play favorites for select teams.

Yes to both, select teams were nothing special. Kids picked for those teams who don’t even play soccer anymore

One team had won the Gothia Cup. Clearly your daughter didn't make the trip.

The training is OK. Your kid will not get picked for the “select” squads as they only pick kids that have been doing this for years (regardless of ability). It’s an insider club thing so don’t get upset. The Gothia Cup is an expensive but fun trip and very low level soccer.

Totally true, Gothia Cup presents zero challenge to our female teams, quite shocking to be honest, but, if you have money, why not???

Hearing he is loosing all his coaches after COVID. Where will he get his staff now? DT won’t let anyone in the country

There are plenty of college players around that won’t have a season and can’t go back to campus. I’m sure they’ll be glad to get a minimum wage job coaching at NCE.
