Candidates Hopkins, Suffield, Marianapolis, Thayer, Govs

    Hopkins 9-6-2 (no games left)

    Pro: good overall record

Con: All 9 wins versus class C teams.

Suffield 9-5-2 (game left with W&M)

Pro: good overall record, nice win over Hotchkiss

Con: 6 wins over C teams, only class B win over win-less Berkshire

probably needs to win last game to strengthen its case.

Marianapolis 10-8-1 (league tourney games left)

    Con: 0 class B wins

    Thayer 7-6-4 (no more games)

pro: 3 class B wins, 2 class A wins...best result, win over Milton, several quality ties

Con: two of the class B wins over weak Winsor and Dana Hall, lost to Govs

    Govs 6-5-4 (no more games)

pro: 2 class B wins, 2 class A wins, several quality ties, beat Thayer

con: no notably wins beyond Thayer

The decision for the committee will be how strength of schedule plays a role.
Very good analysis. When you get a chance, would you do the same for Class A (just kidding)

Here is some info on Class A

      Worcester 15-0-1
      Choate 14-1-1
      Loomis 11-1-2
      Taft 13-2-1
      Nobles 11-2-2
      Andover 10-5-1
      Hotchkiss 8-5-3
      Milton 6-3-6
      BBN 8-2-6

That is 9 teams. One will be eliminated. Hotchkiss plays Taft tomorrow. A loss could eliminate them. Nobles v Milton will play a big role in selection process. Andover has played the toughest schedule.

Great analysis. Thanks for doing it. Based on what you've posted I'd have to give to Gov's based on their win over Thayer. I don't have a lot of sympathy for those B teams that play mostly C teams. They pretty much deserve what they get. In contrast, Pomfret's 4 losses have been to Worcester (A), Choate (A), Porters (unbeaten B) and KO (B) all close games. Not sure that's a team a higher seed wants to meet in the playoffs. MX is another tough out that can beat a top team on a given day.

Milton will make a strong case with a win or tie with Nobles tomorrow. Bad loss by Hotchkiss could knock them out and open up 7 and 8 spots to the ISL teams.

Milton will lose tomorrow. Bank on it.

BBN is better than they get credit for.

Nepsac really is the best high school soccer league in the country. The tournament selection process mirrors the NCAA tournament selection process and that makes every regular season game mean something. The quality of play is unmatched anywhere in the country. Where else can you play teams that start 6, 7, 8, 9 + ECNL D1 college commits every week? Parents, if you're reading this, if you've got talented girls in middle school, contact some of the prep schools mentioned in these posts. Don't waste your kid's school soccer experience. Get them playing on a Nepsac team. They will be better off for it.

Not sure I agree but it would be interesting to have match between preps and non preps.

This is a gross exaggeration. By the U16 year, the very best ECNL teams in the country might have 7,8,9 D1 commits. There are exactly zero teams playing in the NEPSAC Tourney that can claim anything close to that.

" the quality of,play is unmatched..." You are simply WRONG. Several years ago, I had a very good ISL team. After the season, I went to visit my daughter in Northern Virginia. We went to the prep school finals. My ISL team would have lost to those two teams by 3-4 goals. Further, hearing the term ECNL over and over is very annoying.

Worcester, Choate, Porters, Pomfret all have somewhere between 5-8 girls who will play D1 college soccer on the field at the same time. Nobles is very young but their team will have the same number by the time those girls are seniors. Go watch Worcester or Choate play next week. They are head and shoulders better than any high school team in the country.

Fwiw, porters has 13 ECNL players on its current roster. Not sure how many are committed to college.

                              ECNL blah blah blah.
