This isn't about banging a porn star. We won't know what Ms. Clifford has to say until next Sunday, but it's a safe bet she has more than just tawdry sex details. At this point, even sexual deviancy along the lines of golden showers, S&M, or submissiveness doesn't stretch the imagination. After all, this is the president that said he could shoot somebody in public and not lose any support. This is clearly more than that. It appears likely that she has evidence of physical threats, maybe worse.

Two things struck me in watching this play out over the last few days. First, Ms. Clifford is way smarter than anyone gives her credit for. She is playing her hand extremely well, and hired a VERY good attorney. Which brings me to the second thing - Mr. Avenatti's TV performances are pure genius. He knows exactly how much to say and how much not to. This man is ten times the lawyer that Michael Cohen is. Remember that even though Trump says he hires only the "best people", he actually only hires people willing to pledge their undying loyalty. Cohen's strong-arm tactics and bumbling mistakes in the Clifford payoff have left Trump very vulnerable. He doesn't stand a chance against Clifford and Avenatti.

If Avenatti, his client, and CBS are successful in keeping a lid on the details of the interview until next Sunday, it will be the most-watched television broadcast ever. And the world will watch the next step in the unraveling of the worst presidency in American history. It's ironic and maybe fitting that, despite all the hoopla over Russian collusion, it might actually be a porn actress that takes Trump down.

Looking forward to watching Avenatti run circles around the president's barely-competent legal team. If Trump can't survive Stormy's lawsuit he doesn't stand a chance against Mueller.
