That's not your problem and should not be an issue for burning a bridge. The coach has the team he selected. If it is too light on players or too many players are leaving, then some introspection is needed. If the coach feels a bridge is burned because you leave for your own reasons and career, then that coach is an azzhat and should be more professional.

At OW, they make you swallow 12 veinless hot dogs at one time before you get permission to leave the cult

Better than the 12 veined ones you have to swallow to join the cult.

Realize that no teams care about the player. In the old days, they only had try-outs for openings. Now kids are disposable. Once parents understand that, then burning bridges is not a worry and they will look out for their kids only as the clubs do for themselves.

How would playing in another state be more enjoyable than playing with kids he/she knows? Also, what age?

                Thanks.
Don’t listen to these clowns. Just go right to mick and explain. He doesn’t want to get a bad rap. He will give the release.

If you are at a dik club like ow, they will hold you hostage, so you are probably sol unless you go outside ct until the contract you signed expires. It is all about the ego and club perception

Cfc United will grant the release....if you don’t want to be there, they don’t want you to be there either....Assuming you are paid for the year, but that is expected, you took someone else’s potential spot

CJSA and U.S. Club are unaware of each others rosters, so you could play for both and neither would know unless they saw you or you told them. That is, the crappy contract you signed with whomever you signed is more meaningless than ever.

Neither OW nor FSA are CJSA, so the kid isn't leaving from there, is he.

You took someone else's "potential" spot, true. "Potential" is the key word. But, the club doesn't care because they got your money. They might try to find someone to fill in and so get double pay for the spot for the rest of the season. Or, they might play a bench player .... just kidding, that won't happen.

How can you assume you have any idea what's best for a kid in a situation you know nothing about?

I'm assuming the poster lives near the border. But who cares if you cross state lines to play club soccer? You rarely have anyone from your town on your club teams because players come from all over. MA players come to CT clubs, CT players go to NY. You go where the best coaching and fit is, within a reasonable distance to your home.

Not OP, but why is it a waste of money, time and resources. I wish my kid didn't have to play HS soccer this Fall. No structured development until January

If it is a waste of time for you, why would it be a waste of time for others? Could it not be the perfect solution for them? Does your big belly shake like jello when you laugh? Do you keep a shirt on over it at all times?
