Club soccer has very little value. It is snakeoil sold by a bunch of otherwise unemployable ex-players of a meaningless sport with no future in the U.S. They scrounge around trying to attach themselves to as many teams as possible so they can grab as many checks as possible. They preach about all the college money to be saved. Only in a few rare circumstances, which almost always involve scholarship players, is there any financial upside. You can argue club soccer teaches other important lessons to a kid, but those lessons could be taught in a much less expensive way.

A Friend of mines was mad that us football cost 220$
This year I cracked up Laughing we all know soccer is alot more but it`s our fault. we let the burnouts mentioned by the last poster . guys that might as well of studied basket weaving in coll. I`ve seen better quality coaching from volunteers that new what they were doing than I`ve ever seen from these play to pay coaches with no day jobs maybe 10 or 20 years ago you had to pay to get someoen that knew what they were doing soccer has came along way there are more soccer players in duval county than baseball and football combined. follow this high priced pay to play big club model soccer will never move into the mainsteam in the US use the system that works in our other sports and it will it`s a better sport just ran by lesser people right now.

"Worth"
I guess it depends on what you expect to get out of it.
If you think you're "investing" in your kid's opportunity for a college scholarship, the answer is "Nope- you'd do better investing at the craps table"...
if the money spent gives your kid great comraderie, great memories, some fitness, and happiness (as well as you family), then absolutely it's worth it...

"Is drinking during the day worth all the money?"
Lordy, I've met more coherent meth addicts.
