    Refund Thread 2

The other thread is full of moron's.

Simple question...Has any club offered refunds, if so, who? Do not need your useless opinions, just facts!

    #2
I’m pretty sure no club has yet to give refunds. Based on the fact that there still could be a season a short season at best but there still could be one. So taking that into mind clubs can’t give refunds yet because they would still have to pay for coaches, league fees, field rentals and slim chance but memorial day tournament.

So parents wouldn’t see a any refund if any probably to the summer.

Stars has made no generic statement on refunds from what i have seen at HS level.
I expect some have asked, and i expect the answer is they don’t have answer yet.
In the meantime personalized practice plans, virtual meetings and even group video workouts are occurring or being scheduled. Thus they can say services are being delivered within the constraints of the current environmmet

It's TS - take any so called "factual" response with a grain of salt. Worry about what your own club is or isn't doing. Right now everyone is hoping that a season might be salvaged. It's looking less likely as the days go one, but no one will start cutting checks until it's definite.

I can't see a club giving a real answer until they know what their expenses are yet. Any refunds they had coming, and any other league fees they won't be charged. I can assume some percentage will be passed, but until USSoccer, US Club Soccer, ECNL, NPL, NEP, etc etc etc figure their plan out, Clubs are kinda' stuck right now.

Other than payroll, one of the BIGGEST costs are fields & facilities. With the Spring being postponed, nearly all of that money will be refunded to the club. Most of the staff/coaches are independent contractors or part-time employees with other full time work. Even the executives have full time jobs.

Also, most of the clubs are considered Non-profits. They have been getting tax exemptions for years while increasing costs and maximizing revenues.

Refunds should absolutely be given, just like every other business has done (or been required to do).

              Just an example: https://apps.irs.gov/pub/epostcard/c...3016609534.pdf

Bolts revenues were near 500K this past year. Payroll is 200k. That means nearly 60% of the revenues should go back to the customers! Search with all the big clubs- it's a clear price gouge, and now they are holding on to the customer's payments. It's WRONG.

That being said....nobody can consider what amounts to give back until they know what their books are going to look like.

I think you are reading that report wrong. It looks like 1.5 mil in Revenue ~ 1.3 mil in expenses. But yes, i agree that the clubs make a profit and with main costs for the Spring being reimbursed, so should the families. its the right thing to do.

Thank you for the IRS report though.I forgot that they are public and as a parent/customer, we should investigate more where our money is going.

Plenty of clubs are non nonprofits. Owners don't want others knowing their business. Each club will have its own unique finances, ability to get refunds, bank account depth.

Scattered reports are that some event organizers aren't refunding $ or only giving partials. Big events typically have cancellation insurance but i've no idea if this would be covered.

If true, that would have an impact on what the Clubs are able to give back.

No clubs will be giving refunds. Best for us all to accept it and look forward to next season. And if you get upset don’t worry those same people will leave the club you are going too anyway

Can you provide a link to the Bolts financials? It seems like a bit of trolling that you randomly pick out one club. I would think that the Bolts payroll is much higher than $200k as well. With DA/ECNL/NEP I would guess they have around 50 teams. That would mean each coach is only being paid $4k, let alone what the Directors receive for pay.
