    LIU Brooklyn

Word is that LIU Brooklyn passed over Mark Dawson for the head coaching position. How in the world does that happen ?

Why was the former coach fired?

No such thing as LIU Brooklyn. It’s just LIU and they play at the LI campus.

Now if true, which I doubt, has to be much more to the story...

He had no chance of ever being a D1 coach

Either fake news or poster is uneducated. Only one LIU. He wasn't head coach this past year either.

He lost. MD was able to get the LIU coach fired with the hopes of getting the job. Now he’s out of a job as well. Karma

Word is she took a better job. LIU’s hire is comical. He was 1 year in women’s game at Kentucky and team was bad. The staff will be out next year. Worked as vol at Stanford but on the men’s side. He’s young with no metro area connections. Crash and burn at a program that is fully funded.

The UK team was bad in the SEC...not quite the same level as the NEC. LIU did OK in D1 their 1st year, .400, better than most thought. MD is a decent enough guy, but definitely not someone to hang a program's hat on if you're looking to grow it into a real D1 contender. Let's be honest, what metro area connections does MD really have? Most of his recruits as HC were international and a handful of local HS All-County players.

If that program is fully funded, they should really be getting a better class of recruits. I say wipe the whole slate clean, get rid of all the grandfathered in staff and may the program competitive.

I hope they wipe the slate clean at your job as well.

Nothing personal, but like I said-if this is a fully funded program, they should be doing a better job of recruiting.

I get it but its to easy to wish hardship on others. It may happen anyway but we don't have
to wish it on them. If the school decides to clean house then so be it.
