Don't be so harsh. pre means the player meet the minimum requirement. The player are breathing, can run, and parents can pay. Much like pre qualifying for a loans.

I know it is easy to bash the "pre DA, pe ECNL, etc." but it in our experience (3 kids that play or have played) at a large club the talent does start to rise out of all the White, Blue, Purple teams at a fairly young age and in most cases the "pre" do play at a higher level with more talented kids. So if you can afford it and your kid is enjoying it, why not play on the highest level of competition at your club? Each year that goes by it gets harder to crack that roster.

Having said that, what has to be balanced is the amount of travel and sacrifice away from home on the weekends for the kids starting at such a young age. We know several girls that started in the "pre" ages and just burned out - not on the game or the competition or the almost year-round training. It was the travel and missing their "school friends" for 5-6 years in a row.

It's very hard to bash pre da and da especially after us soccer got rid of the younger age groups! What about the kids who can't afford pre da or da? Daddy on the board? US soccer needs a come to Jesus moment and stop this bs.

I am not talking about the talent of the kids .I am talking about training and coaching..it's horrible In the DA..a badge is not going to give you the training and coaching you need to go to the next level..so I say again da is crap

We know FESA TURD Nugget coach. You say it all day every day, and we all know you’re still butt-hurt from getting fired by Armada. The “badge” has helped my kid get 7 D1 scholarship offers for next year, but hey, I’m sure he would’ve gotten the same playing high school ball.

As previous posts, soccer has become a money making machine unless your in an MLS DA program which may benefit especially if your kid is a starter if he is not nothing wrong you are getting everything for free and like any sport, a team needs additional players on the bench to enforce in practices against their starters its the way it is.

DA, and soccer itself its expensive, of which some even very talented rather play with their city clubs as too much to afford which in the end are left out, and lets face it DA scouts do not go to those neighborhoods or other places to search for talent. They dont go rock bottom to normal leagues, rec games even and other places to search we are narrow minded, in other countries thats where the main talent will come from why they have players that want it more, yet here we have it made!

Its better to pick a coach and not a club!!!

I hear this all the time - and it is so unrealistic! OK, so your kid is U14 and here you hear there is an awesome U14 at a club across town. So you pick that club and that coach. What about next season and the season after. Is that coach going to stay with your kid and move up to U15, U16, etc. until your kid ages out? This rarely happens. The days of the great coach at the little neighborhood club that gets your kid at 13 years old and says goodbye at 18 years old are over.

Its better to pick a club and not a coach!

Make no mistake your kid sucks. Did Elmar help with that scholarship? LOL. The only way "your kid" got a scholarship is if you bent over and dished out some $. Do us a favor and look up D1 scholarships and allocation(NCAA) of $. To make it clear douche, most likely, I mean probably not all, you got a small tiny percentage of financial aid! Good luck with that!
