    FAQ’s

    What is RED?

RED (Regional Elite Development) league is a Florida US Club league run by the Florida Premiership with regional based schedules. This will be operated in different regions throughout the state of Florida.

How is it different from NPL & FPL?

NPL – national competition platform that is run by the Florida Premiership in the state of Florida.

FPL – state competition platform that is run by the Florida Premiership

RED- regional competition platform that is run by the Florida Premiership

What is the estimated cost to participate for a season?

    $200 Annual Club Fee

$195 per U9-U12 team per season

$275 per U13-19 team per season

How many clubs will be involved?

At this time, we are anticipating that our current NPL & FPL clubs will be entering teams into RED. We currently have approx. 30 member clubs in the Florida Premiership

What level of competition will it be? (1st team, 2nd team, etc.)

This will depend on the clubs who enter teams into the league. We are anticipating our NPL & FPL clubs to be entering teams

How far would I have to travel?

This will depend on the clubs who enter teams into the league. It is the intention of the league to keep in the local region of the club.

Why should I choose RED over a local competitive league?

US Club Soccer leagues link competition with player development and identification platforms as well as provide meaningful competition.

    Requirements for RED
•Clubs must be US Club soccer affiliate prior to joining the Florida Premiership
•All new clubs will be required to join Florida Premiership

If its anything like FPL it will be a mess. That was the worst run league my team every played in.

I think you have it backwards. I think RED is intended to replace local leagues like USA, SFLUGS, GCF, NFL, Etc. They would play regionally in the state. Then they could move up to FPL and then NPL and if the club has it ECNL.

Bottom of the USCLUB Pyramid. At least that's how I read it.

Me too. FPL starts at U11. Just another way to make parents travel more and line the pocket of someone else.

Exactly. Watch all the clubs sell it as a "great" new thing to the gullible parents. No different than the local leagues.

My son played FPL DEV league at u11 last season and I have to say the competition level was higher than the basic league (we played both). I do see value in it in helping the kids to grow. They played teams all over the state from Jacksonville to Miami. It does offer more variety than the same local leagues. Although there was a bit of travel involved.

Why do U9 and U10 kids need to play a regional schedule?

My perception of the regional travel is that for instance if you are in Orlando you will play in Central Florida. To me it competes directly with GCF and CDL in Central Florida.

This league is the USclub answer to FYSA's new FSCL league.
It looks like clubs will have a choice at every level now for FYSA vs US Club.

If you look at the clubs registrations in the different leagues you can see how they are lining up. Some are straddling the fence with both leagues but most seem to be picking sides.

Too many leagues are bad for youth soccer but it is going to get worse before it gets better. ie EDP league etc.. Everyone wants a piece of the money pie.

There are a lot of teams in Florida with US Club passes only that need a league to play in as they cannot play in the FYSA leagues. RED looks like it fills the void for these these teams.
