Better question. Who would want one? It's not like you would be getting a whole bunch of great coaches. It would be just like high school soccer where you get the physics teacher who once played some in high school.

Low income players would like a club like that.

Low income families. Families who don't want to line owner's pockets. Coaches and volunteers who are community orientated and want to give back.

All of the US college soccer players have to settle down somewhere. Some people have played soccer throughout their life. Some people are good coaches even if they weren't great players.

When the 'pay to play' clubs import 21 year old coaches from the UK, what makes you think they are any different from adults who have grown up playing soccer in the US?

Sure sounds like a sales pitch to me. Just what I want, some two bit hack who thinks he's a soccer god coaching my kids for free so I can't bitch when does something stupid or acts irresponsibly.

Played soccer since 1978 and I sucked as a coach when my daughter started playing.

            I won't speak for all.

So what your saying is that you want to pay money for a two bit hack that thinks they're a soccer God?
You sound like the type that would still bitch a volunteer coach.

It used to be called “town” soccer and it worked fine for the majority of players.
Then came PT Barnum and the clubs and they destroyed those programs.

I used to coach for free for town and have played all my life.
                  I also have a C license.

There is no way you would attract ex Pub player/Coaches from England if that was the case.
                    GPS would never exist.

It still works fine in my town. Kids play both town and club, nothing got destroyed, well maybe parents checkbooks.

So it seems like the answer is no, there are no volunteer run youth soccer ‘clubs’, only town teams. Which town teams have great organization?

Why is the ‘British Coach argument’ always made against GPS solely? Bolts, Stars and NEFC are all heavy with the pub going Brit too!

Ya, NEFC was great for a while with some homegrown american coaches and had good diversity . Now it seems the infestation has spread to them too . Bolts and Seacoast are also heading that way.

GPS has always been the entry point to move up to the better clubs like Bolts and NEFC.
Maybe that is what happening now .

Valeo is now the place to be becuase there is more diversity and their style of play is not British based but more South American and Eastern European
