Has Owen Gayle trained your daughter

Pembroke Pines police arrested Owen Cleveland Gayle, 38, of Davie, on four charges, including promoting sexual performances of a child, transmission of harmful material to a minor, unlawful use of a computer and solicitation.

Gayle used the WhatsApp messaging application to privately message a young girl who volunteered with the team. He texted practice and game schedules to members of the team using the application, but began to send “inappropriate text messages and content that was sexual in nature,” according to an incident summary provided by the police.

The girl reported the messages she received to another soccer coach, who contacted the police. When a Pembroke Pines police detective took over the girl’s account to communicate with Gayle, the soccer coach sent nude images of himself to the account and solicited the victim for nude images of herself, police said.

Gayle previously served as a soccer coach at Soccer Elite Training and First Touch Academy, where he provided private lessons, and at the city of Weston AYSO Select Program.

At what point do coaches and club stop hiring coaches that are part of the Jamaican mafia. Each one I know verbally abuses, physically abuses, has been sued by parents, or has restraining orders from ex-wives. Yet they are still actively coaching in clubs and schools.

Parents, no one care about your kids except you. Trust no one. Jamaiacan or not. Your number one job as a parent is to keep your kids safe and happy not to trust random strangers to do it. Clearly background checks don’t pick up on the fact that you are sleezy, have been sued, or have restraining orders.

Because Jamaicans are guilty of verbal and physical abuse? Only Jamaicans have restraining orders from ex-wives? I never knew Juan Ramos was Jamaican. Is Bill Cosby Jamaican too? Jerry Sandusky does sound like a Jamaican name.

You are right though that no one will care about your child as much you. Its the parents responsibility to educate their children to keeping themselves safe.

How stupid are these guys? Do they think that parents never check their kids' phones?

Makes you wonder if the name First Touch Academy was even soccer related.

Not just idiot coaches but their clubs. A good club is very explicit on what kinds of communication are ok with kids. Best bet to be safe is that all communication are also sent to parents regardless of age. It's CYA when it comes to working with kids.

Not sure why you want Jamaicans teaching soccer. They can run fast, but that's it. So, it really sounds like a mafia. Get out of there ASAP. There is not enough curry goat ass to go around:)

He is or was the head coach for Chmapions FC a little one team banner located in Davie, Florida where they got their banner from Lauderhill lions. Wonder if others complained about that coach and his acts.

He also did some coaching in soccer zone. Thank god they got rid of him there and did training in Weston ayso.

You have a pretty twisted mind if you think it should be necessary for a club to tell coaches not to send nude photos of themselves to young girls.

So I guess it’s okay for this sick person to be with little girls and god knows if other little boys and taking pictures and all.

And associate with private lessons and having little kids around makes it fine. This guy should never see soccer and be around kids. Suppose to be an example and instead took advantage of little kids.

For those interested...They try and make a big deal that he was able to obtain two low-level coaching licenses in one year. What they should have been focusing on was him preying on young girls.

Coach Owen was born in Kingston Jamaica, playing at the junior level “ 12” was my way out to American where he received an international scholarship at the age of 14 to play a Miami Southridge senior high school. After high school in 1999, he received a scholarship to play at a junior college in Syracuse New York. After college he played as an amateur for Bridgeport Italian in Bridgeport Connecticut. So after he played with the New England Revolution in Boston Massachusetts 2004, and Real Salt Lake in Utah 2005.

Today Owen is a proud member of the Weston AYSO Select Program. In only 2 years he obtained his Florida Youth Soccer Association USSF “F” and “E” Licenses and is currently working on his “D”.

“Certain things shape us, change us forever. For me, while growing up in Jamaica, this was my uncle Patrick. No matter how early he rose for work, or how long a hard day was, he always made time to kick a ball with my cousins and I. Through him, I gradually developed a lifetime love for the game of soccer, playing in high school, college, and in Clubs. And I swear that whenever I felt like giving up, I could always hear his voice repeating the same phrase he’s been telling me since I was young, “you can do it”. This phrase would continually resonate in my subconscious ear over the years, and since I’ve been ignited with a desire to pass on my knowledge, experiences, and passion for the love of soccer to the younger generation. This will always be my coaching philosophy towards my teams. I believe the kids all have untapped potential, and as a coach, it is my ultimate goal to allow this greatness to spring forth. I intend to do this by using a variety of methods and techniques I have learned throughout my life”. ~Owen
