Trump faces backlash after saluting North Korean general

"he criticism directed at Trump mirrors the anger former President Barack Obama received early in his presidency when he bowed to two foreign leaders. "

Obama was also criticized later that same year for bowing to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia.

Trump in 2012 tweeted about Obama’s interaction with Abdullah, writing: “do we still want a President who bows to Saudis and lets OPEC rip us off?”"

    Dear Abby

    Dear Moron:

The general saluted first out of respect to the President of the United States and the President followed military custom and returned the respect.

Bowing to a king is a sign of deference to that king and is never done by equals.

    Sincerely,
    Abby

what she said. the general did not have to salute Trump first, but he did. Trump was not obligated to return the salute but he did. get over yourself. did Trump fart today. surely CNN will make a headline out of that too.

That's rich coming from Trump - The Saudis bailed him out in the 90s when he went belly up (no proper banks would lend to him), he and the Kushners owe the Saudis bigly, and Trump has sold them lots of pricey Trump condos. If you think that sounds a lot like all of his entanglements with Russia, you would be correct.

The salute - much ado about nothing. But you all lost your minds when Obama wore a tan suit. So it's even.

Actual Abby was doing the opposite.

Tan suits are casual not business attire.

First: not every presidential occasion requires stuffy business attire. "Though his suit drew the ire of some politicians, many in the fashion industry praised Obama’s bold choice. “I applaud him for wearing a tan suit,” Joseph Abboud, fashion designer and chief creative director of Men’s Wearhouse, told HuffPost at the time. Abboud previously made suits for the president when he worked at Hart Schaffner Marx. “You don’t want to look the same every day of your life. It’s boring as hell.”

At least Obama knows how to wear a suit - stylish, properly tailored. Trump wears a navy sack of potatoes (trying to find his obesity) with a red tie that's too long (he thinks it makes him look taller). He doesn't even button up (probably can't), as is custom when not sitting.

Yes it does. That's the tradition. It shows respect for the Office that obama never had.

More tales of Trump G7 stupidity - he told Japan he'd ship them 25M Mexicans to see what it's like to have an immigration issue. He told the head of the EC 'Jean-Claude — you are a brutal killer'". The only European head to praise Trump was the newly elected quasi facist president of Hungary. Everyone else now knows what they already suspected - he's completely lost his mind.

He told Fox today (about Kim) - "Don’t let anyone think anything different. He speaks and his people sit up at attention. I want my people to do the same," Trump said.

People tend to be alert when they're threatened with execution or concentration camps. Funny how that works.
