Will they still have the New England NPL team for those that never wanted GDA?

Did you even read the press release? It's a league for U16 players who don't make the cut for the U16/17 teams. In other words, a B team league. Then if you don't make the A team the next year you get to play on Ow's team! Yippee! Oh, and it goes down into VA so have fun with that travel for B teams.

As a result of interest from several girls U.S. Soccer Development Academy clubs within the East Conference, eight Girls DA clubs in the US Youth Soccer East Region have gotten together to form the 16U US Youth Soccer National League Atlantic Development Player EDP Conference. This conference gives these clubs a chance to participate in a competition with parallel scheduling to the DA that will culminate with a playoff and a chance to participate in the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series.

The following U.S. Soccer Development Academy clubs have committed to playing in this conference for 2018-19:
          •Arlington Soccer Association
          •Cedar Stars Academy – Monmouth
          •FC Fury
          •FC Virginia
          •Oakwood Soccer Club
          •PA Classics
•Washington Spirit Academy - Baltimore Armour
          •Washington Spirit Academy - Virginia

            It's better than the ECNL.
            It's right after the GDA

The better GDA players make the A team. That leaves the weaker ones for the B teams, which in BDA means they were players that couldn't crack ECNL before. Take this year's U15s (2003s). Half will move up to U16/17 (02/03) in the fall. That leaves 9-10-ish for the B team. Who else plays on this team to make a full roster? Who else wants to play on this NPL-equivalent B team with tons of travel and cost?

Also, girls not making a DA A team for U16/17 are missing the most prime time for recruiting. How will these U16 teams get showcased? Might as well do NPL at another club that does showcases, with less travel and cost.

Note the absence of other GDA clubs. OW parents will be doing a lot of 95 driving. Make sure your Easy Pass is on auto re-fill

                        From the MASS Board

                        Default GDA “B” League???
THANK GOD BBA did not get involved with this EDP league! If they ever pulled their NPL teams and put them in this nonsense, they would lose half their top players. It’s already a tough sell to get girls to do the travel/cost and sacrifice of GDA, could you imagine trying to convince the second team players/families to do it too???? WTH was Oakwood thinking????

It's like OW is purposely aiming at their feet. More choices like this and they'll turn into a fading player like SCP.

Who will they pick up to fill out the rest of the roster? Some of the girls will jump to NPL or ECNL.

The travel schedule looks brutal for no reason. What a ridiculous plan!!
