U16 daughter plays center forward and on occasion left wing. What sorts of clips should we include considering she isn’t a true striker?

Tracking back and defending from the wing; crossing into dangerous areas; overlapping work with her outside back; finishing; 1v1 against a defender; cutting inside and shooting; running at the backpost to finish crossing from the right; winning 1v1 battles; pressing deep

UCLA Hailee Mace is far from boring. Didn’t play in the elite so cal soccer system till her senior year in hs. And it all started with a highlight tape. If you got true talent you will be found regardless of the level of team you’re on.

From the Story: "By the end of her junior year at Buena, Mace had yet to receive a single phone call or piece of mail from any college coaches" At that point it sounds like her and her family WORKED HARD to get noticed by coaches and succeeded. The Footage sent to UCLA came from Guest playing with a higher level team. from another article on Hailee"Getting borrowed on teams was definitely helpful. And yeah, that’s where the footage came from! "
Also quoting Hailee in another article: If you did it over again what would you do differently?
Well, I’m so thankful for the way things happened. Like it couldn’t have happened any better for me. But I would probably start to play for a well-known club team starting in middle school, and make sure I went to college showcases.
Even if you have true talent to be noticed you have to have a way to get seen i.e ID camps, Video, Guest playing, etc. you will not just be "found"

Was not implying she got randomly found. More of the sentiment that she and her parents did not go the normal route people often say top recruits have to go. And that her abilities did speak for themselves. How many ppl argue on this forum that you have to have had YNT bylines/ODP/ECNL/GDA experience by U16 to be considered to powerhouse soccer program? From what it appears, she played select or low level premier through junior year. She did not have years of experience playing high speed of play. The article implies she didn’t start guesting until at least until end of junior year. Her recruiting process from the end of junior year till sometime in her Senior year must have went fast. How many ECNL tournaments did she jump into to make her video? I’m guessing her video came from one tournament. Found it here. So a non ECNL girl playing low level club soccer for all her youth career except her senior year guest plays a couple times and plays good enough for one of the top D1 programs to want to watch her at a lower level tournament. She’s not an ECNL product or the product of elite soccer. Her parents probably signed her up to guest play but we all know that is also a crap shoot. Her mom sent the video that got noticed. But let’s not pretend she was a product of ECNL. Her recruiting story is an anomaly but the credit goes to her and her parents, not the league or the club in her development. And UCLA Head Coach gets credit for identifying talent over prestigious resume biases.
