Best athletes do not play soccer usa

the fact is the best athletes in America do not play soccer.
    why?
    travel da too expensive
look what a pro football, baseball, basketball player makes compared to MLS
    scholarship easier for other sports.
look at division 1 soccer rosters more than half team from Europe
soccer not as popular as other sports in usa
imagine if some of the nfl athletes played soccer instead of american football?

It will never happen even if all DA was free. The top athletes in the inner city do not see Soccer in the USA as a way out and make millions. With all the concussion issues in the NFL it would have been a great opportunity for a spike in youth soccer but with the USA not making the WC we will not be able to jump on the opportunity.

Different sports require different types of athleticism. It is really comparing apples with oranges. NFL athletes playing soccer would not work, the two sports require entirely different skill sets.

Let me see one sport plays 4 months out of the year and the other 10-11 months. Yeah not the same. One requires a major commitment. I wonder which one.

I guess you have never seen travel baseball? It cost 10X more than your local soccer travel or DA.

I guess you never had to buy a helmet and pads year after year and sometimes midway throughout the season. Son this isn't flag football. It can cost up to $2K just in equipment. Tournaments are held up and down the state. What are you talking about?

All you have to worry about is a $15 ball and cleats. Club fees of $1500-$2000 is a joke. Try paying $3k-$4k fees even while in high school football picks up the tab on most items there's still so many fees.

typical America wants everything for free. In Europe I use to drive 2 hours to the pitch and 2 hours back. Americans want an Academy next to their house and free because the coaches don't eat and live off water and bread. That's why you are the classic case of why American soccer will never be EU futbol.

You are delusional. Let’s see, Deion Sanders grew up playing only soccer. Lolololo. Moron

The best soccer player in the world is not the best athlete in the world. The best soccer player in the world is smaller than the smallest of NFL running backs. The best soccer player in the world is not this mutant athlete. You don't need to jump high, run fast, throw the ball 90+ MPH, nor have the strength to lift a small car. The best soccer player in the world is 5'7", 145 pounds, and would run a 40 in the 4.7 range...or as fast as say a slow NFL tight end.

To be good a soccer you have to be good at soccer. Deon Sanders would be a fast soccer player ... among the fastest. That doesn't mean he'd be a good soccer player. You have a twisted vision of what makes for a good soccer player.

I Messi does not have the top end speed, but he does have elite balance and acceleration as well as very high-end agility. It is key to his game, the start and stop quickness and his ability to navigate traffic. When he takes a quick step, he has most player beaten. In the world of soccer he has elite speed, so does Pulisic, Renaldo, Bale...all have elite speed in comparison to the players they play against.

Here is the thing, no one is saying take an NFL player or a football player and try to make them a soccer player, but if kids started to play and care about soccer, in the same way, the US and our considerable amount of freak athletes would eventually catch up to the world and dominate. Can you imagine taking these freak athletes and putting a ball on their foot at age 5 and having them play every day the way they do football and basketball. Shiiiiiit, No one in the world would be able to compete.

I know it has little to do with you, but most football players train year round for their sport.
