If you didn't think YNT call ups were corrupt

    http://www.ussoccer.com/stories/2017...-training-camp

    Now what is noteworthy?

No Stars on this one, but what's this? A bunch of "Internationals sc" kids.

let's take a glance at the "assistants"
Adil at hawks -check- a bunch of hawks but at least the team is good and won 2000 ECNL championship so have to take a couple from them.
JD- check- a bunch- of Stars on with him off without him because he's been replaced by...wait for it-
K Sarvers: Internationals soccer club bio includes u18 YNT assistant- imagine that a bunch of Internationals even though their team was not champions league or even north American cup were they even showcase?
April Kater boss of all youth coaches and what she says goes -check- a bunch of Coloradoians-
Michele French and Leslie Gallimore Washington state and west coast mentors also tied into the female ussf cabal Gallimore going on the recent international trip- University Washington commits -check

No wonder we suck at the full WNT level. GDA will be same old same old. People in power getting their kids in hoping to be credited with finding the next wunderkind. Except they aren't Pugh has been less than impressive. led her u17 and 2 u20 teams to success...oh wait....

College should re start the clock

These kids then become highly ranked and get offers at top programs. If they were all so amazing then no program with "lesser" kids would make it very far in the tournament or beat the star studded teams.

You parents of girls are crazy. How many threads on the same subject? We understand. Your daughter is the best and has no opportunities or offers. Why don't you talk to someone who can help her (and you) and stop whining on every thread.

Of course little will change. Can't believe anyone would think any differently

Boo F'ing Hoo. You think this is any different than any other sport or real life situation?

Let me guess, posted by a FC Stars parent?? Those two girls didn't deserve to be there either. But I do agree that the system is biased.........

It may change as the WNT becomes less and less successful. They can no longer rely on pure athleticism to win games. You have to admit that after watching the last two games, aside from Rapinoe, not a lot of creative/smart players.

Based in how the men's team operates I wouldn't hold your breath

I can tel you for a fact that several of the players they are selecting are not particularly athletic . the Stars kids were not either. The same system that worked for them is now working against them.

Are they super creative/technical players with superb first touch?? In order to keep winning you need players that live with the ball at their feet, have incredible first touch, ability to see the field, and make plays. Honestly on the WNT how many fit that bill? Off the top of my head Lavelle, Pugh and Rapinoe. There is a lot of bad mouthing Pugh, but she is still only an 18 year old girl with plenty of development that will continue to take place. Jill Ellis needs to pick her top 11 and have these girls PLAY together, the constant switching of rosters makes it that much harder for these girls to gel together.

You need players of all types. Interested that you think Pugh has plenty of development. Does she? and if so, then why dont the the youth players that you are calling out for no having certain things?

Debvelopment is a broad term but I think you ahve to be more specific. I think she will get fitter, stronger but not so sure she will get better vision or markedly better technique. Not sure she will become a much better finisher.

Some parts of a players game do improve, but others really dont - certainly not on a relative basis. Thats what matters. Are you improving faster than the rest.

I like Pugh but wouldn't call her super creative/technical. Agree on Lavelle and Rapinoe. Heath is hurt, but obviously fits the bill. I like Press and Brian (hurt also).

Can't wait to see Sauerbrunn retire. Painful to watch her give up possession over and over.

Rapinoe? Are you kidding? She was the least creative/technical player on the field! An absolute waste of space.

The problem is with back line more than the final third. The kid from Wisconsin needs more playing time with Pugh.

If you don't think Rapinoe is creative or technical I'm not sure how much women's soccer you watch. She is one of the best players in the world and is having an incredible season with Seattle.
