Who cares? At this point how many Maple teams, if any, could place in a top NEP division let alone have a chance to win?

After SSS, FC Coastal, SPoL and the other clubs left last spring Maple was dead, it just took them six months to figure it out.

What does this acually mean? Will there be a cross over with NEP? I thought MAPLE/NSL were pals with mass youth soccer which is part of us soccer? Also what does this do for ma state cup next year? Will it be just town teams playing?

The US Club MA State Cup that is....Now NPL/NEP/NES teams all participating (Jury is out on ECNL/DA teams ever participating moving forward)

The USYS MA State Cup is all town teams now. Dead in the water!

No idea what the practical implications of this are. Anyone want to explain?

For one, Maple clubs will play in US Club Massachusetts Cup and not MYSA Mass Cup

Secondly it signals the beginning of the end of US Youth Soccer in Massachusetts

So what happens with all the Galways & Mass City's of the world who tried to get into NEP/NEC and couldn't?

They can play and beat them in the US Club state cup to show that they are worthy

You're confused. It's Easter. April Fools was a couple of weeks ago.

It means that NEP has lost its exclusivity. Time for someone to start another league for only the so called top teams.

MAPLE/NSL being part of US Club soccer starting in the Fall only changes who they are affiliated with and who they pay their player insurance to. It doesn't effect NEP at all.

It means that the two leagues no longer operate in separate silos. They will meet on the field in state cups and tournaments
