Doesnt this seem very early for an ID clinic/tryout? Will players be offered spots this early?

This is their second one. Both Stars and BBA held one in Feb, and yes they have already offered spots.

It is open to any player in the respective age groups in which the Academy is fielding teams.

As an aside, which age groups have already received offers? I assumed the ECNL teams would get an early lock.

About 40-50 or so in 2004 age group. Next group in looked even bigger but there were multiple age groups at that time, so to be expected.

              Wasn't first group 04 and 05? 40-50 would mean only 20-25 per age group.that doesn't sound right.

No, technically it's an 04 team (with 05's being eligible so it was open to them), but mostly 04's for 04 team as there is no 05 team. So yes, 40-50 for one team is prettg good.

Probably 50 girls or so for the 2004 tryout. Of that, 5-6 were 2005 birth year and 5-6 were keepers. There will likely be 18 rostered, with many of those spots already filled from the current 2004 NPL team, who were in attendance.

There probably aren't many spots left to fill.

The real question is, "how many were not from NEFC?". If you're not pulling significant numbers from other clubs, you'll wind up losing players net/net to ECNL clubs.

Most were from NEFC given the uniforms. I know of a few who were not NEFC players.

In the older age groups there weren't many from outside the club.

03 age group is the true measure stick. Young enough and most entertaining HS next year. Zero in on that tryout/ID and you will gauge the DA swing in Both clubs.

Lets all be honest. No one as any idea what will happen. It's only April. Every club is/will have multiple ID sessions and tryouts as well. If your kid has a team to play on and they are happy, who cares? The parents on the other hand are the ones that are worried about being able to brag about a DAP or ECNL badge on their kids jersey.
