TBU is up to it again...

TBU is up to it again... TBU had a college coaching ID session before Christmas and they are putting on yet another college coaching ID session for their ECNL/Premier/Elite teams. There will be one this weekend (at the Waters Sports Complex), one planned in February, and one more planned for a later date (March/April). What other club in Florida comes close to doing this for their players.

    Great job TBU!!!!

What has your club done to get gets noticed?

Not at TBU but clubs doing things like that are the ones you want your kids playing for

The money making machine that it is, are they really doing these for their current players or simply using it as a recruiting tool?

I'd say good for them either way. And no, I'm not from TBU. We do sometimes have college coaches attend our training but not formal ID sessions like this, I think it's a great idea. And if they're recruiting, more power to them.

they are known for being good business people.. Bring in the cash.. this is a waste of your kids time. Focus on the schools they want to go/play at and go to theirs -if it's small and controlled. Otherwise, enjoy the game and put the money in a 529 plan

Nothing wrong with getting a little experience with it in a low-key, local environment before plunging into the real thing.

I didn't see anything saying they were charging for it. If it's being put on specific ECNL/Premier/Elite teams I would assume it's free.

its free to TBU players. College coaches come to the fields to watch only TBU players in drills and scrimmages. Its an opportunity for coaches to see TBU players again - in a small and controlled setting like you recommend.

It's UT and USF, that's it. Stop acting like there's multiple colleges attending.

As someone asked - what is your club doing in a similar vein? Even if the players aren't interested in the schools it's still a good experience to play in front of college coaches, get some feedback. Ours only does showcases so I happen to think this is a good idea.

All Florida colleges were invited to this particular one. There will be another one where only out-of-state colleges are invited.

It's cool that they have a separate session for just GKs before the other sessions start.

So no coaches will be attending the next one?

TBU is a plain joke. OCYS is the standard. TBU cant even compete locally. Which is why only local coaches come to look at local players. Just a joke. But nice people!
