Amazing that some of these schools are giving kids money off their tuition in order to play soccer. There's over 8,000 kids playing D1 soccer, and someone is giving money to kids that may win only a handful of games over a 4 year period. "My daughter is a D1 soccer player!" Yeah, I guess she is.

Average scholarship is between 50-75%. With tuitions now north of $60K there is a heck of lot more at stake than just parental ego.

Could be worse, you could be sending your kid to one of the lower tier Ivies that are on this list where there is no money involved and all there is are bragging rights.

Well you did forgot to mention all the aid they give to families making less than $150,000 (varies by school). So you pay some for an Ivy or bet to brag your kid got a partial scholarship to Fairfield U. D1 baby! That's all that matters!

'Cause they'll never be able to use that Ivy League degree anyway...

              Yes those lowly Ivy schools....

              Only on TS!

You must be crazy. The Ivy League education is worth whatever you need to pay.

I think I would pay for the lower level Ivy rather than take 50% from some of the lower ranked schools on that list. Of course, I've blown so much money on club soccer by now, what's another couple hundred thousand, amirite?

Yes that is what normal, rational people would do if presented such a choice (which would be rare).

I have been told by several that Ivy League financial aid is closer to net incomes of $225000.
Give my kid an a Ivy education over 50-75% at every other D1 school in New England

Only on TS would someone so cavalierly piss on a $100k plus after spending years chasing a scholarship. Can't make this stuff up.

Your kid has to get in first and if you are planning on soccer getting them in your kid had better be a world class level player otherwise you'll end like the rest here trying to explain how Trinity was the plan all along and having the rest here laugh at you.

That's what helicopter parents do. They can't accept that their kids aren't stars at everything they do.

I'd rather have $150K and a degree from {pick one below} than a degree from any IVY.

BC, BU, Northeastern, HC, and many others around the country.
