    Stars Cup

So if this was March and NEFC of FC Boston had not listed their brackets or schedule two weeks out, there would be publish mayhem on here about how incompetent they were.

With FC Stars now pushing on over a week late with meeting their published brackets deadline, does this prove that TS is FC Stars driven as there is crickets about this....??

Both are valid points. Stars do get a pass on this forum, but TS activity is low right now. We are all just so thankful that Stars let our girls in. #Afraidtocomplain

haven't looked yet, but 100 percent Stars will avoid Breakers and PDA in their brackets...because they have much fear in them, like the dark side

You are correct, at least partially. U14 they put both BBA & PDA in the other bracket together but are in the same division, so they could potentially meet up with one of the in playoff or final.

For U13, they did the same thing with PDA, but didn't even put NEFC in the same Premiership division. That stinks, because unlike the U14's, it's only in tournaments that we may ever get the chance to see those two teams play this year.

You don't see the irony of your post do you? LOL!

But seriously, some of us were looking forward to the chance of our top local teams taking each other on, especially in a local tournament. Not whining, just disappointing to see that it is not possible to happen this weekend for a few of the teams.

There's plenty of time for that. Relax. It's a preseason tournament. Let the kids play the games and get ready for the season. No irony at all unless you accept your myopic view of the world.

Are these people serious? There are tons of teams coming from out of state, and they're complaining they are not playing the in-state teams? Seriously?

You are the one who needs to relax. You are all worked up and equating with a few up expressing our disappointment in not seeing a good local match-up, with somehow "not letting them play the game." Pretty sure that right there is not only myopic, but also ridiculous hyperbole. Perhaps you need stop worrying so much about what others want and/or enjoy, take a TS soccer break, if THIS is what bothers you. Have you not read this site?

Yes, they are. How many times is there criticism of local tournaments because the only teams that participate are those affiliated with the sponsor.

I am with you, that is 1/2 of the fun of these tournaments.

It's only a complaint because some of these in-state never get to play each other because of all these multiple leagues, etc. Of course it is great to play out of state teams we don't see often, but it would also be nice if top teams could test their metal occasionally against their local counterparts. Pretty sad when a Stars Pre-ECNL team will be playing a Chicago team twice in 2 weeks, but never play NEFC or SSS once all season.

The "just let em play" thinking is just the normal "rec" coach thinking that pervades this site. Just ignore them because not only don't they know anything at what is going on in club soccer these days, their opinions are downright contrary to what it takes to successfully navigate the environment.
