What are the thoughts of this age range in the club. Level of play both technically and tactically? Coaching and development? Ive read enough of this blog to realize this thread will probably also spiral out of control quickly. but I am willing to sift through the Love and Hate replies for the genuinely helpful ones. Please let me know your personal experience within this age group if you've had one. Thanks in advance.

Ocys has hands down the largest talent base in Orlando. The purple 1 team is always solid at this age group. They consistently beat rush and FKK. 05 and 06 got big talent influx from the west side. They should be good -

The girls that came over from Rush (4 of them) are ok players and competed well in their own age category. They are not the caliper of the core 05/06 purple 1 girls from last year but they will make the 05 purple 1 team as that age group has no depth. In the end it will be a decent team but it lost 2 very strong players that were moved to 06. The 06 team is strong. The 04 team has talent but the girls do not get along and this shows in their poor results last season. OC is good at attracting talent but they have a lot of progress to do in development.Comment

Horrible mistake coming to OC for the girls side. Coaching is terrible. Too many kids per coach. Did I say bad coaches. My daughter loved soccer and now barely wants to go to practice. This weekend they get to go get beat up on by boys with a team that is far from being able to keep up. This is a horrible experience.Comment

When you say bad coaching what are the examples you have for this?What dictates bad coaching from what you have seen with your kid?Not trying to be rude I'm just wondering some specifics about what you consider bad coaching.As far as playing boys I can understand the concern with that.But maybe what the coaches are thinking is it will force the girls to play the proper way to counter the obvious athletic advantage the boys will have.And by doing this will ultimentley make the girls better when they play in tournaments against girls .Maybe that's what there thinking as a club who knows for sure but it's a possibility .Comment

Lots of standing around, coaches often don't show up so one coach takes 2 to 3 groups. Very uneven talent in groups. Coach does not have a handle on the kids. My kid was accustomed to focused and intense practices. She is not getting that at OC. Practices are a waste of time and now I hear that when daylight changes they will shuffle everyone around town to different fields and change training nights. No respect. This club is a joke and they do not care about the development of these girls.Comment

Sorry to hear your going through this I have heard similar things about OC exspecially when it comes to coaches being available for practices and games.I don't know what level your daughter is at with the club but it seems that unless your on academy with boys or purple with girls then the other teams are not really paid much attention too.And Unfortunentey there also seems to be s a lot of politics in play which is very disappointing .Comment
