It's quiet at TBU after they got bypassed for Girls DA

TBU parents and coaches have been awfully cocky for the last four months since finally getting ECNL after seven years of trying. Man, they must be pissed to see seven Florida clubs get Girls DA and not them. Then, for WFF to get it must really chap them. The Chargers are probably feeling just as bad as they have Boys DA and got bypassed for Girls DA. Congrats to the seven Florida DA clubs!

All good at TBU! Try putting more lipstick on that WFF pig. Any objective parent in the Bay area with is probably not thinking "I really want my daughter to roll up to those nasty Brandon fields to train with mediocre coaches so they can go 1-15 in an even HIGHER level, more expensive league." All the insiders know that ECNL is the place to be for the next 3-5 years.

First off girls professional soccer is so small only a handful may ever be played to play soccer. Secondly girls chances of playing college soccer is so much greater than boys due to title 10 not making it as hard to get on a team. Thirdly girls are much more social butterfly's than boys and want to be recognized by their piers and classmates. Why would they not want to play high school soccer. Until girls can make a living playing soccer DA is not going to latch on for these kids parents.

ECNL is the place to be for the next 2 years. Will still be a good league after GDA gets rolling. WFF has BOTH. this may give TBU fans some cover after GDA starts. They will only have to endure 1 year of WFF teams and ECNL teams pounding them. After that, they will probably be able to go .500 against the GDA 2nd teams that are in ECNL. A bit like they did with Florida soccer. I used to be indifferent but because of the smug TBU posters I'm actually looking forward to watching them get drubbed this year.

While I tried to agree with some of your points, you lost all credibility with "title 10." lol. And never underestimate soccer parents. There will be plenty that will push their daughters into the program.

I heard AB filled out the application for TBU for the GDA and put his name beside every position at the club! President-AB, Vice President-AB, Secretary-AB, Director of Coaching-AB, Univ of Tampa-President, Univ of Tampa AD, and so on. He may have added his sidekick JC on the application as Transportation Director with all of his experience in getting transportation since he couldn't drive due to his DUI. I am really shocked because TBU dad said they had ALL the contacts throughout the soccer world and the GDA was a sure thing for them. Just more smoke and mirrors I guess. ECNL will be a good upgrade for TBU after finally getting out of the REC LEAGUE they call USYS. Unfortunately, all of those medallions they have been getting by beating up on weak USYS competition will be so much harder to come by, if not impossible, once they start the ECNL schedule in a month or so. Best of luck, and better luck to AB who wears all of those hats stated above!

You make a good point about "Title 10" and girls being "social butterflies". Title 10, or Title X for those that have a clue, is about Planned Parenthood! That equality sport thing for girl's, Title IX (that is the Roman numeral "9" for you PP!), would fit your cause. Hey, but you were close, and you had a shot or "10" at the time of your post! A little info to put between your ears below...

"Title X is a federally funded quality family planning program, open to men and women, both insured and uninsured, regardless of their ability to pay. Service fees are determined on a sliding fee scale, based on a person's income.

Title X allows us to supplement birth control, breast and cervical cancer screening, and other reproductive health services."

So that is why TBU applied for the Girls DA, because they knew it was worthless but did it anyway? Same with all the other ECNL clubs that were awarded DA they knew ECNL was better but still decided go with the girls DA program?

Even you call it a higher league, that is all it takes to attract the players to come over. As for the cost, the DA on the boys side although expensive is less expensive than ECNL.

The girls DA besides giving the opportunity for the players talented enough to make a national team pool in their age group (because it will be the primary path for that) will be providing girls even better opportunities to play in the best college programs in the country.

TBU did not apply for girls DA. Post whatever you like but at least get your facts straight. By looking at who was added it looks like the right move.

Stay off the crack. All the top clubs in country have moved to the GDA. TBU finally join the big boys and they all level for the GDA.

PDA, Hawks, Slammers, Stars, Sol Cal Blues, Texans, Sting, Solar, Eclipse to name a few.
Now look at the teams in the southeast, Tophat, Concorde, CASL, Charlotte, OC, JFC

Those clubs you mentioned can play in 2 leagues especially with combined age groups. Now ask yourself if Clay County, Weston, Boca United, WFF, OCYS & IMG can? IMG does not even have competitive girls in age groups outside of U19 which are all foreign players? These clubs cannot get teams to the final four in state cup and you think they bring anything to the girls DA?
WFF and Boca United are bottom feeders in the ECNL and have been that way for a while. OCYS may be able to pull it off but let the facts stand firm, OCYS 2nd teams have not done anything to merit consideration of being able to contribute to a high standard. What does Clay County, IMG and Weston bring to what is being advertised as the to be best girls league in 2017? The initial list may have been a step forward but the additions named this weekend took this league 3 steps back.

Same old TBU talking about state cup. You will get slapped around in ECNL this year and see what the level is like. Then you prepare for your second season hoping to improve and all the top players and clubs will move to GDA. You will be back playing second tier again. At least you will win some games playing all those 2nd teams.

You are wrong! TBU did apply for GDA and found out last week that they weren't in. They aren't happy to be left out again. If you think otherwise then you are clearly out of the loop. It's funny that your angle of getting passed over is to act like you didnt apply. lol
