    Fspl 2016-17

The deadline to apply for FSPL is in eight days, June 8. Very few teams have applied. Some made it to the round of 16 will play SRPL, but the others need to apply to get in. There will be at least four at large selections for each age group assuming four from each play SRPL.

I imagine they will lose every academy team. Maybe the b teams will play. Usually better than A teams at small clubs.

Everyone waits until the last minute to apply. The deadline last year was June 9 and few had applied more than a week ahead of the deadline. FYSA will be contacting clubs and sending reminders.

Many clubs/coaches will be seeing how their teams shake out after tryouts before they apply. This is even for teams with an automatic invite for finishing top 16. Clubs new to ECNL and, as was mentioned earlier, clubs with teams that qualify for R3PL have some decisions to make. Also, some smaller clubs may be able to compete if the right combination of players come together with the birth year changes. I'm pretty sure this is why the FSPL application deadline is the week after tryouts.

No U19 division? The 98s are getting screwed!

One of those teams applied in U14 girls finished last in USA league last year.

Our team played both NPL and FSPL last year and it was great competition - about 25 games total. The FSPL play was surprisingly fun. High level of play and with 16 teams it was fun that several teams jockeyed for the lead over the course of the season. All the games mattered down to the final weeks. Would highly recommend the FSPL play.

Any team can apply. This is not accepted, and a few bottom feeders will get in.
