If you get lucky and happen to have a teacher that is also a good coach then your set. Most of the time that's not the case. Masco is lucky on the boys side, not so much on the girls side. She's been there way to long and knows absolutely nothing about soccer. Most of the talent goes private to avoid her.

Depends on the HS. My HS coach was the wrestling coach, didn't know anything. I got to college and had a lot to learn. But, this was decades ago.
I know for a fact the HS's in and around my town are all ex-college (D2) and/or players with semi-pro playing backgrounds. They also coach some club teams as well.

Yes and they have to know how to deal with pain in the azz parents like the op, always complaining about the job their doing

Many HS coaches are better than club coaches. I have no issues with my sons HS coach. He coaches club and is actually better than his NEFC coach.
