    Coach quits

Hi, our coach quit last week. I asked for a release but the club refused. I emailed FYSA and am waiting for an answer but I read their Bylaws/Rules and clubs can deny release after December 1st and there is no rule that affiliates must provide teams with a coach.

    Buyer beware, I guess!

He probably got sick of parents talking to him after games. I guess we should be worried as well.

Contact Usysa. State associations can't enforce that rule if you really want a release.

Even if you get a release the above may not be a bad idea. First there may not be much available. You don't want to rush into something that might be worse, then you have to look again in May. Use the time to shop carefully

There is nothing to see out

There is nothing to see out, as there is no coach. No practices or games. But I definitely won't rush into another club after this experience!

Troll. There is no reason to post this without saying what club it is.

Then it's easy to get out.

What club doesn't provide a new coach when one quits?

I get the feeling we are not getting the full story here, I have seen it before where you have a prima-donna coach and some parent followers. They try to get preferential treatment within the club and if they don't, the Coach threatens to quit and destroy the team in order to hurt the club. Maybe the club hasn't been given enough time to find a suitable replacement, it is not the end of the season and therefore you should honor your commitment, not to the club but to the other players on the team.

You might be the reason the coach quit.

Understand that most coaches are ready to quit but there is nowhere else to go for someone who coaches with passion. It is the same everywhere. Parents who think the can run the team and have all the ideas. Their little Joey or Sally is never at fault. What ever happened to holding kids responsible for their actions.

Coaches rarely quit because of pain in the aZZ parents or kids. If they did there'd be constant movement of coaches. Coaches quit because they have issues with club management or find better opportunities elsewhere. It's important when looking at a club to make sure they have a stable of good coaches in case yours leaves.

If the club has no replacement and the team disintegrate then you have a case for getting a portion of your money back. If they care about their reputation they will at least offer that up. But if they have a replacement coach they have no obligation, even if you can't stand the guy.

I have seen coaches quit because they have been driven out by the parents. The club responds by standing by the coach, and not replacing the coach, and then the players move to a new club the next year.

That is how good clubs become horrible clubs that nobody wants to go to anymore. Ignore your customers, and you will lose them.
