A lot of players are offered positions in their senior year. Just because most D1 schools have made their commitments, there are still plenty of opportunities for the others.

Will it be another TBU vs PV/JFC in the state cup final?

PV wasn't even the 2nd best team last year. Probably 3rd or 4th. They are ECNL now anyway. It will be interested to see how many TBU girls will be motivated at end of the year now that they got hump off their back of winning states.

No matter how PV does hopefully FYSA will re-seed the final four next year so we don't see such a lopsided final! Whether the girls are going to play from TBU or not now that they have won state cup will always be a question going fed, but would the finals this year have been better if they played FF in the final vs semi? Not sure but it would be nice to see the number 1 and number 2 in the final for state cup instead of the semi final and the scores proved that. Hopefully fysa can figure that out going forward

We find this amusing that people think gotsoccer rankings should play a role in state cup for seeding. Seeding is based on previous year finish, league play in all USYS leagues. It has nothing to do where a team is on gotsoccer. Ponte Vedra was the 2 time defending champion & participated in National League-SPL-RPLEast. The points they received from National League & SPL put them as a higher seed than FF. Teams in FSPL get points as do teams that participate in other USYS leagues. FF got points in their league but it wasn't enough to put them higher than 4th. So a team should be placed higher because of gotsoccer? Not the case & I defend what the state uses to seed teams for state cup. Previous year finish has to matter & leagues you play in should also matter. Not getting points at Jefferson Cup in a 3 game showcase where you never play in a semi or final but yet are awarded as the champion. Come on people. Get off the rankings

I think the poster was just saying it would be nice to see the best 2 teams in the final. FF was actually a 5-seed. They finished 4th in R3PLE, but only receive 4 points for it. They need to take away points from FSPL, or amplify the points for R3PLE.

PV lost a lot of players to ECNL the year before, and I doubt they will even have a non-ECNL competitive team this year. We'll see.

And yet the rankings seem pretty accurate in this case.

                    Exactly.
When you are getting points going to top showcases and winning your brackets, instead of getting seeding points for placing in an easy league, that makes sense to me. While Got Soccer may have its issues, once teams get to the U16 age, it seems to really even out and the consistently good teams are ranked highest. Why not use Got Soccer in some way for seeding State Cup? At least as one of the tools. Every other top tournament uses it.

And I agree - there should also be a bigger differential in points awarded for doing well in higher leagues such as R3PL and national league, rather than FSPL.

sorry but FYSA wants your kids staying in-state. FYSA provides heavy seeding to their FPSL teams because they wouldn't have any other advantage over US Club teams otherwise. Honest to goodness, getting seeding for PARTICIPATION. And call it what it really is: the FYSA State Cup.

You've gotta be from FF, no other team would make such a goofy remark. FF, you've been played by most of the top 10 in this state and you can actually make such a remark? We all know how those games went. As much as they'd like to bury their stats. Any other team could have beaten them on any other day. And PV was not the same team as last year but I give them some credit for going as far as they did; they went beyond what I expected. BR, not sure what happened to them, only getting to elite eight, and yes TBU was able to get it done this year. oh, can't forget maitland FKK, congrats too for hanging tough final four finish. That's the wrap for top 5.

It is not the actual rankings by GS. That's not it, but they should seed teams differently. First, they need to include ALL teams in the seeding (that have applied and been accepted). All florida teams that play in a league in Florida should get seeding (this excludes no florida teams). Now you only get to list one league that you play in and everyone agrees you'd list your league that will give you the most seeding points (if you even play in more than one leagues, many do). And I don't think it would be difficult to then rank those leagues in order. Giving points from most competitive, to least competitive, but every team gets theirs. Then, how well did your team do in that league? Champion, 2nd, 3rd, etc. easy. highest points for champ, then down it goes. Might need a cap at some point because not everyone should be getting points here. Honestly, if you aren't a finisher (1,2,3,) not sure you should points beyond that. Would a simple system like this be so difficult to implement?

Not sure why so offended? Why does this need to be from FF or why is it a goofy remark to say that the 1-0 semi final would have been a better final? And curious why the attack on FF? Assume they did pretty well against some tough teams if they are ranked #2 - why would they want to bury their stats??
                            Confusing post.....
