Massive / TCU Rising U14G Tryouts

Will your daughter be trying out for Massive risingU14G? I am thinking of leaving our current club and looking for honest input to help me decide if my daughter should attend. Thank you.

If you are looking for your daughter to develop, it is a good choice. If you are interested in winning tournaments and playing in top leagues, look elsewhere.

      Great trainers/expensive/poor talent.
      Very B level teams/tournaments/league play.

Not for the serious, college bound player.

Thank you for your response. I have heard the coaching and training was good but it was one of the more expensive clubs. I think development is important but I don't want to pay an arm and a leg to "lose" a lot of games and tournaments.

Ask someone that is there. Coming on TS is not going to get your answer. The cost is a bit more, but you get high level trainers and good player evals throughout thr year. It was their first year and they one their share of tournaments with a mix of player ability. Ask a parent and most will tell you they progresses significantly. In time they will be very competitive.

Thank you. I will! I came on this forum to see what others thought. Sometimes, parents of a club look through rose-colored glasses and don't always offer up the whole story. I am leaning on attending their tryouts tonight. They have a female trainer there that I heard was awesome. I am looking forward to seeing what it all about.

RS the female trainer there and she is fantastic. My daughter has been training with her and she is very knowledgeable and very good. This is only the second year massive is training there so they have a ways to go but with the trainers they have they will be a successful club in the future if they stay the course.

Great for younger players U8-U12. It is expensive, but they care.
Older ages, just for fun, not worth the money.

Are they not organized for the older ages or just do not have enough participation? Why not focus developing the older groups? I heard that RS is an ODP coach is that accurate?

My daughters have had experience with the trainers at Massive. I would agree that they are very good individual trainers and would recommend them for small group or individual training. The issue is not with the quality of the trainers or even the quality of the club design itself... It's a simple numbers game. From the u-13 level and up, there are not enough very good/elite level players to go around. There are "good" players that are working hard to develop but they are not on the next level.... Then you add in the geography and the number of existing clubs, it becomes difficult for a smaller club to add top players... Depending on age group, you have established clubs trying to compete for players and there are not enough to go around... Mako, PSL up north (and if the player lives north they could choose Central Brevard as well)... Jupiter United, FC Florida, Wellington, Nomads, Massive all in Northern PB County... Elite Players may also choose ECNL (Boca United) and NPL (several clubs) now or even Sunrise if willing to travel... I believe you just need to set the priorities that are important to you regarding your child's development/playing experience and find the situation that fits her best.... Hopefully wherever you choose, she has fun and gets better... Good Luck!!!

Dont forget about consistancy. We left FC and came to tcu. yes, it is more expensive, but the coaching staff is consistant. FC was fine and is also expensive becuase you have a lot more fees come up throughout season, unlike tcu which is paid for upfront. he thing we like is we know who the coach is going to be next season. FC could not guarantee that.

So who is coaching this group (Rising U14G) next season? I heard there were no guarantees on Massive coaches. Which age group did you leave at FC?

Sorry, I'm no fan of FC Florida for many other reasons, but there are no hidden fees.
Massive fees are the most expensive that you'll find in our area.
The poster said it best regarding their lack of talent at older ages. It's fine if soccer is only a social event for you, but if it's something more, you'll need to look elsewhere.

Thanks for your response to my comments on the state of soccer in Northern Palm Beach County as I see it.... Not certain why you are referencing FC based on what I said.... My daughter played with one of the other clubs mentioned last year and we are moving this year to meet with our goals. Our experience with the Massive Trainers was on an individual training basis and we enjoyed it. I tried to make my comments balanced about the player pool and setting individual goals/expectations for what a player may want.... Sorry if they implied otherwise...
