This has to be the last big club not in the NEP? How long before they jump ship from Maple?

You have to be accepted into the NEP.

This new club will not be accepted and will continue to do just okay in maple.

Why wouldn't the NEP want 50-60 new teams? Surely just for the extra revenue alone?

The NEP turns down clubs every year. They want clubs not teams.

If either club wanted to get into the NEP, they should have merged with a member.

        This won't hell.

NEP/NPL is a good old boys network who doesn't want the competition. Both of those clubs are well established and have some great teams.

Combined over 14 age groups in Massachusetts State Cup, they have two semifinalists, both in the same age group.

              Good luck!

Why does a club need NEP?

                Please give some specifics

It is where the better teams play...easy enough for you. While there may be an exception, the top NPL teams are well ahead of the top Maple teams, period.

But what does that mean in the big scheme of things. Is the league producing professional players at higher rate than maple ?
Last time I talked to GH from the revs he told me he didn't care where the boys are coming from .

Do you really care if your sons team ranked ##1 or do you care that your son is ranked #1.

Seems like relegation is better than non relegation or why would the whole European soccer leagues based it on this idea?

It means he is playing against strong teams which will challenge him more and he will develop faster decision making, faster pace and stronger skills. I guess he could play rec and score 40 goals a week if it doesn't matter where he plays.

Then ask GH what %'tage come from MAPLE programs and what %'tage come from NEP/NPL. I wouldnt care either where they came from, but I would know that I can get more players from NPL than I can from MAPLE.

You will notice how only 2 players on the current rev's u14 program came from MAPLE, the rest from NEP.

Make Sense? I don't want to be a downer, but the truth is, better players evolve from better programs and the better programs play in NPL at this time.

Didn't the u14 Rev player called up for nationals play Maple?

He played rec , town then maple. Just like other national players from this area. Don't let the new age newbie soccer parents tell you other wise.

OK. Makes sense. So, the overall better players are in NEP/NPL, but the cream of the crop come from Maple.
