    Mismatches in NEP Brackets

Despite having Got Soccer and their own score books to look/compair past history of scores and performance of all age groups why does there seem to be so many blow outs in third and lower brackets in NEP ? Who's really to blame here for a 13-0 or 8-1 game. Doc's, nep ?

In reality land? Who cares as long as the checks are written. There are far too many weak / town level teams now in NEP, but it's a business and it's doing just fine thanks. look past the top divisions and it a joke.

Need to qualify it further. Look past the top three or four teams in the top division and it('s) a joke.

      Now that's better.

You all are such elitists. So I guess every kid playing soccer on any soccer team not on a top 1-4 team in NEP or higher should should pack it up and quit soccer. You are basically calling these kids "jokes". I have a kid on a top NEP team, and one who plays on a team in Championship. I thoroughly enjoy watching both teams play and both kids play. You all can sit on your high snotty soccer throwns and call 99% of the players/teams jokes, but we all know who the real jokes are.

OP here. This is not the question. Why go there? Like the other poster said why the snobby attitude. My daughter plays up a year in top bracket before you attack me.

Lets stick to original question of why so mismatched please.

To your original question, it goes to the difference in the B&C teams between some of the regional teams in NEP. The B team at one club could just be far superior to the B team of another club. I would say the DOC's of these clubs just need to a better job at placement up or down. I can see not knowing what you might have in a team that has a lot of roster turnover, but after one season, you should have a better idea where the level of that team should play.

I suppose it depends on the age group. If it's below U11, some of these teams may newly formed, or clubs new to NEP. So it's really a roll of the dice of where they place them.

Also, I know NEP tries to align teams with regional considerations (at least in the younger divisions) to some extent. So that may be a factor.

For some divisions, I'm sure some DOCs may work the placement to "have a good year", maybe for player/parent morale, or maybe for some positive PR for an uneducated observer.

Still, it's obvious that neither team gets much out of a blowout.

It's the same exact problem in all of the MA leagues. Not sure if it's greed, arrogance or what, but we have way too many leagues in MA and because of this every league is watered down with the top 3 or 4 of each bracket being fairly strong and the remaining teams being much weaker and getting blown out each week. It's a disservice to all of our kids. Many have jumped to other clubs because they are in different leagues only to find out it is exactly the same situation. It really is a shame.

Thank you:) could not have said it better myself. Those obnoxious parents who judge other children that they are not good enough to play with their child need a reality check.

maybe because there's no promotion/relegation like, say, in MAPLE (or the BPL, La Liga, Bundesliga, Ligue Un, etc.)?

And an F for originality. If you're going to insult someone, at least have the decency to make a half-hearted attempt. After all, entertainment value on this site matters.

NEP they should be looking at past performance, does a team need to move up stay were they are or move down. Only when they start doing this they will return to being the quality league they were 3 years ago.

Why go there? For two reasons. The first being trolling. Look at the posts it's spawned. Delicious. All the little NEP minions scrambling to defend their league (and their puffed-up, over-inflated egos).

Second, it's an assertion that is not entirely without merit. NEP postulates that it's the top dog in New England when really all it's done is create another league composed of a lot of weak and mediocre teams. There are a handful of decent teams that can be found in each age group. Big deal. There's nothing particularly novel or appealing about NEP - all you've done is repackaged the same product~ Kudos to MPS for the marketing, it's worthy of Madison Avenue, but the product remains the same.

The really unfortunate thing is that you've split the talent between the good clubs that have migrated to NEP and those who have elected to remain in MAPLE.
