    NEP watered down league

I read a lot of posts that NEP is great Maple sucks.
I think NEP was good before 2013.
In 2012 NEP spring had 383 teams registered, 2015 spring 735 teams registered. From 2012 to 2015 they have added 92% more teams. Why you ask for the money. They did not find some honey hole with 5000 soccer studs, clubs found 5000 parents that drank there koolaid and opened there check books.
These kids came from Maple, NHSL and town leagues, that is why all 3 groups mentioned besides NEP are hurting for players.

NEP is just the "new" Maple. Same teams, new league.

NEP NPL Spring 2015 = NEP Premiership Spring 2014.....same teams, new name for their top bracket.

Maple is just what's left over from the Maple to NEP exodus of the last few years.

ECNL is horrible too. Let's all just go to the English Premier league. Our kids are way too good for every league.

The problem we have now is that all of the leagues are now watered down. We have maybe 3-4 good teams at the top of each bracket and that's it. It really is a shame and I'm afraid that it's all about egos and money, nothing more. Us parents and our kids are the victims.

Be careful about saying this sort of thing. Something similar started a virtual holy war on this site.

So is the AFC East watered down, or the AL East? Think before you write. All leagues, in every sport have a top group in a division and the rest fall out and it is usually cyclical.

Once you drop out of the top 6 in BPL the teams really fall off, is BPL watered down?

Unfortunately, dilution is the reality and the kids are not being well served. Money is a necessary evil and is what is driving all of this. There are also some talented players that are not on the top teams because of lack of proximity to those clubs.

Not the answer you were likely looking for......but, yes to all of your questions.

Triple A is still Triple A though and nowhere else is that fact confused but here.

Why don't you select the league that best fits your child and that is it? If your son/daughter are proficient at the game, the team(s)/league(s) will eventually come calling.Forget the watered down theory. Plenty of good soccer in Massachusetts for both genders. The good players, well, they need to do slightly more work looking for the best fit.

Because the parent does not pick the league! The club chooses the league and parents have no say.

You tryout for the club that participates in the league you are targeting for your child. Not rocket science.Parent does not have a choice, when the child does not make the teams you are earmarking. Catch my drift? Middle of the pack kid, not a whole lot of options unfortunately. As with any sport.

                          I think this is awesome!

There are so many more kids playing on Sunday and getting semi-professional training during the week. Think about how soccer has widen and strengthen the base.

Add to that a decline in football and the top of the soccer pyramid can only get higher now.

Let me understand the argument. If more kids go to school even if it is just a few years the top end intelligence goes down.

Yeah that makes sense -- NOT!
