A few years ago, the CDL was born to free the top clubs from having to waste their time playing smaller clubs that were inferior on the field, it got tiring winning games by 9 or 10 goals, and to allow like minded clubs to get battle tested for State Cup. Somewhere along the way this whole concept has fallen apart, the CDL has fallen apart and I don't think it can get better. Basically, over the past few years the CDL has been adding clubs that really have no business in any league other than the USA League, many of the top clubs now simply refuse t o play their top teams in the league and would rather just farm the age group out to a smaller club than waste their time playing in that age group. The whole concept of the original intent of the CDL has been torn down, with each passing year the league becomes weaker and weaker, at what point will the top tier clubs simply pull out of the league and form another version of the CDL minus the weaker clubs?

CDL quality really deteriorated two seasons ago when top clubs put their top teams in the statewide leagues. I saw one game two years ago and the Brandon/East Lake Flames entered their fourth team in the CDL.

TBU has none of their top teams playing in the CDL. Basically you have clubs like Sarasota, Strictly, Lakeland, Houston Dynamo which is essentially the USA League.

You either are moving to play at a club in a top league or you are Rec in expensive uniforms. But stop being ignorant with your money.

CDL has been in decline for several years now, and is pretty much on level with USA D1, and even has many USA D1 teams in their league. Maybe they've spiked the Kool-aid and are too nauseous to post?

If the rumors are true that the CDL will be adding GTBFC and Celtic next season, then this league is on life support. Adding two teams that struggle to stay relevant in the USA League is an asinine move and will speed up the process of driving out the better clubs.

GTBFC doesnt have a team this year in our age group, they were nearthe bottom last year. I guess the whole rule of the CDL that each club must have a team for each age group sort of has went out the window, so maybe they will add GTBFC. I thought the whole purose of forcing clubs to have a team at each age group was to weed out the smaller clubs and make the CDL a premier league.

With the addition of all the state leagues there is not room for both CDL and USA League. They need to be combined into one league or one league needs to go away.
